Hector: Badge of Carnage – Episode 3: Beyond Reasonable Doom, developed by Straandlooper and published on PC by Telltale Games, serves as the concluding chapter of the Hector trilogy and delivers a finale that fully embraces the series’ signature blend of crude humor, absurd storytelling, and classic point-and-click mechanics. Picking up directly after the cliffhanger of the second episode, the game wastes no time plunging Detective Inspector Hector and his long-suffering partner Lambert into escalating chaos. The narrative doubles down on its outrageous tone, combining over-the-top scenarios with satirical commentary and relentless comedic momentum. The story structure is more ambitious than in the earlier episodes, moving across multiple locations and set pieces that keep the pacing lively. The stakes feel higher this time, as the central conspiracy unravels and pushes the characters into increasingly ridiculous and dangerous situations. Despite the absurdity, the plot maintains a coherent through-line, culminating in a finale that ties together the trilogy’s overarching conflict. The writing thrives on rapid-fire dialogue, exaggerated personalities, and unapologetically bawdy h…

The last game in the series and picks up in a new place. The 4th wall breaking you find in the 2nd Episode is not repeated here though. This is the longest of all the Episodes and is quite well paced. You do run back and forth, but it's mostly in the last set of locactions. Overall, same British humor and dark jokes. - 7/10

A throwback to the golden age of point-and-click adventures - back when games didn’t tiptoe around every word for fear of offending someone. You play as Hector, a cynical and unapologetically brutal British police inspector, and your mission is to track down and stop a terrorist. The game consists of three episodes that form a coherent story full of absurd tasks and exaggerated characters. The graphic style is cartoonish but not childish. This is not a game for the youngest players. Humour is definitely the game’s strongest point (though I understand it might not be to everyone’s taste). Hector doesn’t mince words - dialogues are sharp, unfiltered, and don’t shy away from profanity. Everything fits perfectly with the game’s tone: grotesque, politically incorrect, and dripping with sarcasm. It’s the kind of comedy that might get you a knock on the door from the British police if you quoted it on social media today - and honestly, that is the best endorsement I can give.
