Batman - The Telltale Series

My favorite part of playing this game was the fight scenes. It was so fun and I enjoyed every second of it. The gameplay is really good. ABSOLUTE CINEMA!! I like the story and thought it was pretty good and well written. This game gets a 10 out of 10 for me for being one of the best Batman games I’ve ever played.

I would recommend this, but only just barely, and mainly because it sets up The Enemy Within, which is where these characters really shine imo. While the overall narrative is good, and there are some unexpected turns, the plot suffers from some pretty glaring writing flaws. The worst example is at the start of Episode 2, where critical information is revealed by Bruce basically choosing to remember something after Alfred tells him to, essentially explaining his own thoughts to him. There's several instances of similar clunky writing in later episodes where they seemingly couldn't come up with a natural way to move the plot forward. This really took me out of the experience at times, and it's certainly not Telltale's best work (I haven't played all of them as of writing this). The game also has some optimization issues, with frequent stuttering and FPS drops that really shouldn't be happening in a game of this scale. The combat sequences with the additional preparation/planning mechanic as well as the detective minigame were fun though. A great Batman game that rehashes existing characters in the City of Gotham. Good story and good animation. Occasionally the game stuttered for me, but is overall stable and bugfree. The Shift+Q and Shift+E quicktime events were a bit of a pain on the keyboard, but I only missed 2 the whole game.

Ok I'm gonna put this out for people that may have my experience but I bought the game, played episode 1 tried downloading the next episode and it wouldn't let me and came up with an error screen, tried to do workarounds I found online but nothing worked, the company may not have their servers running to let you download more episodes any more and don't care to let you download them all when buying the game, It's that or this is an issue only I'm having because recent reviews of this game on steam seem positive but I can find multiple forum posts on steam over the span of the last 4 years lamenting my exact same issue non finding a solution that helped me and non mentioned tell-tale game support helping them fix the issue, or the issue being patched I've requested a refund for the game if your going to buy the game keep in mind you may run the risk of only being to access episode 1 potentially
