About Hold the Line: The American Revolution

Hold the Line covers battles fought during the American Revolution. This game is a careful conversion of the board game of the same name developed by Worthington Publishing. Jump in and take command of the American or British forces during this pivotal moment in the history of nations!

Featuring an addictive “Action Point” system, you have a limited number of orders to dictate to your troops each turn. You must decide where to attack, who to rally, where to move and who to sacrifice to achieve your goals. Each scenario features unique objectives for both sides and can be played as either. Double the challenge!

Replay the engagements of Commander-in-Chief George Washington and British General William Howe and see who has the strategic might to gain the upper hand for the control of the burgeoning United States of America.
  • 13 unique scenarios playable as either the Americans or British
  • 7 scenario tutorial teaching the main principles of gameplay
  • 4 campaigns, play a series of scenarios in succession for a combined score
  • Faithful recreation of the original board game
  • Choose where to deploy your army
  • Bring in reinforcements when you need them

So my initial review was for how it didn't run at all well and crashed repeatedly with a Windows 7 operating system on Dell laptop Intel core I5 machine. It does run very well with a Windows 10 operating system on an Acer Aspire Intel Core I3 machine which I'm sure has a different graphics card as the game has never crashed yet ... so play away and have fun !

It's an okay title There's many of these hex-based games from an assortment of time periods on mobile while there isn't anything really unique to this one even the time period its set in its a decent title for the price In conclusion, its very average but that doesn't make it worse than anything else currently out like it 7/10 (thank you lambda man <3)

Covers some of the battles of the American Revolution. Gameplay is as most HexWars games. Decent array of scenarios. If you are comfortable with HexWars style, recommended.

Sadly I got this in a bundle pack, which had another game in it. Bundle for $20 USD and this was $15 USD. so really not off to a great start. It handles much like a RTS so cant really complain there however with the battles seem to short. Idk also the game feels janky. when compared to another game like "Total War" where you can move more guys this game lacks flow and yeah you could argue its a 10 year old game but this is just bad for $15 and to just conversion of a board game i hope the reason its $15 USD is for the licensing. I guess the real issue is that you can re-create something and have a "legacy mode" or something but to bring nothing new is just wrong.

This is exactly what I wanted from this excellent iteration of a very enjoyable board game. It enables me to have a relatively quick and satisfying battle when time { and occasionally available space! } mean I cannot play the physical game. It is also a great way of learning how to play the game well. Thoroughly recommended!
