About Rebels & Redcoats
Rebels and Redcoats recreates the battlefields of the American Revolutionary War. The war began in 1775 when the American colonies rebelled against the British Empire, declaring their independence in 1776. In the following years, Britain tried to end the revolt and recapture the American territories. The rebels however had support from Europe, with France and Spain later joining the war as allies to their cause. A decisive American victory at Yorktown in 1781 broke the British resolve and was a catalyst in starting peace negotiations. The war ended in 1783 with the signing of the Treaty of Paris and global recognition of the sovereignty of the United States.

Am I the only American who loves playing as the British?4 found this helpful
Covers some of the battles of the American Revolution. Gameplay is as most HexWars games. Decent array of scenarios. If you are comfortable with HexWars style, recommended.2 found this helpful
for $10 = overpriced. Many BUGS. I'm an afficianado of AM. Rev. tactical. Got this for it's many scenarios, but it's too simple and inaccurate, and BUGGY, I suppose it'd be ok for a HH device, but it fails on a PC platform, although I play it for laffs.2 found this helpful
ok so theres not many choices when it comes to simple linewar hex games. and im brand new to this series so maybe some ppl are burned out on the style of this dev if uve played countless eras like the tank wars one but this one hits well. its no scourge of war or anything in terms of much complexity but it has volleys, formations, troop movements, etc that do a rather pleasant job at depicting the attrition of an 18th or even 19th century battlefield. for ten bucks.. its good. may buy more from hexwar but from what ive read some dont have much content at all. even this one which has the most of their revolutionary war series from what ive read as well, only has a few big map scenarios, most are rather small, but i will agree there are no sound effects in this game :/ but runs well on windows 11 no crashes or bugs so far
No sound effects. Fail. Tutorial: "Click information button for more information about the selected unit." Information display is blank. Fail. Crispus Attucks died for **THIS**??!!?? Fail.
Kind of fun, kind of frustrating. This game would be so much better if you could just play it and advance win or lose. Not really much of a "Control the American destiny" game, more of a battle simulator. Still, for the price, it is entertaining.
