About hoptix
hoptix is a movement playground game inspired by classic speed platformers, arcade skateboarding games, and platform fighters.

hoptix is a bit more like a walking simulator, or the free roam mode of an arcade skateboarding game, than a traditional platformer. It's all about exploring, racing, and stunting through exciting, but peaceful environments at your own pace. It's also very easy and beginner-friendly to clear any level, and has no enemies or "death pits." hoptix doesn't want anything getting between you and the way you want to play, and invites you to find your own challenges and goals.
hoptix is a very short game, with a single playthrough only having a runtime of about an hour, however it's a game that's meant to be replayed! Each level features multiple different routes and many opportunities to express your own personal style through its movement mechanics and obstacles.
Features
- Responsive, expressive movement: Use a variety of movement techniques, from walljumps to doublejumps to railgrinds to airdodges to traverse levels your way. Stop on a dime at any speed.
- Wavedashing: We have it.
- Built-in Gif camera: Easily record your gameplay in-game and generate a social media-friendly .gif file. Show off to your friends with no hassle!

hoptix is for people who:
- enjoy other momentum-based platformers
- are intrinsically motivated by movement and style
- have thoughts like "Can I get through this room without touching the ground?"

This is a game that’s mostly about movement feeling transcendent so it’s good news that the movement and speed were excellent for my entire experience. It’s a joy to run fast, grind on rails, jump on targets, and carry momentum from one platform to another. The game may be TECHNICALLY short but I think if you are going to play a game like this, part of the experience is re-doing levels and trying for a faster time because this game feels best with a sense of mastery as you elegantly move through one section to the next. You have to be willing to challenge yourself to get the most out of this one. Add that to great visuals and music, and this is an infectious game.1 found this helpful
Very fun short experience! Enjoyed the "play at your own pace" aspect a lot. Thought some of the platforms lacked visual clarity as to whether they were a background item or not. Also found the camera movement during fast areas a little disorienting, but I overall quickly got over these issues.1 found this helpful
Utopian vision of a future where you can be a cute little critter and zip and zoom and grind on the moon. Pure eye candy from the backgrounds/environments to Rocket's animations. Just feels good to move around. Sometimes the game gives you a break and throws some cool stuff at you where you can put the controller down and just watch Rocket do cool moves and that also feels good. The record feature is a nice touch. The soundtrack definitely adds to the energy. I mostly played classic mode but its cool that there's options for if you just wanna vibe or like time trial if you wanna have a little challenge with it. Also appreciated being able to collect dyes but I'm glad it didn't go overboard with a billion collectibles or anything.1 found this helpful
Love this game the first I played it. Super awesome. I wonder if you can add characters too Like a fox. Hehe Either way, super awesome and super fun and fast.
this game absolutely whips. it's already brilliant from a conceptual standpoint - essentially, "what if there was a 2D-Sonic-esque game with more diverse movement tech and intuitive control over your character, and instead of enemies and spikes, the only challenges you have to slow down for are smash-bros-style Break The Targets sections (and if you're really good you don't have to slow down for those either) - but then it ALSO lets you play as a tiny rocket-powered bunny, AND the environments are gorgeous AND the music is great. it's SUCH a delightful little experience. i'm very grateful that the dev reached out to send me a code, cuz it encouraged me not to wait forever to play this, but i absolutely would've picked it up regardless and had no regrets. if the trailer footage looks like fun to you, it's def worth giving it a try! (for anyone curious, beating every track and going back to grab the few bonus collectables i missed took me about 2 hours total, but it's super replayable, and i will almost definitely go for all the achievements too cuz they seem very silly and fun to track down)
Feels like a sonic the hedgehog game where there is no enemies and you have all the movement mechanics to express yourself with.
