About Hotel Tutwin

Hotel Tutwin is a visual novel designed for horror / romance lovers, but can also be quirky and cute. Each story line is quick and to-the-point, but there are many to discover. Prepare for inevitable deaths.

You play as Penni, who is compelled to enter a mysterious hotel with her childhood friend. From outside, Hotel Tutwin seems abandoned and empty, but wait... It's up and running? The characters you will meet are a strange bunch, but don't let them fool you. The world at Hotel Tutwin is a balanced ecosystem that has yet to be disrupted.

Penni can choose between three male love interests, all of which have stories hidden in branches other than their main one. This means you can’t learn everything about one character by only playing the path leading to their happy ending. And it’s not like the story is made of happy endings either. In fact, only about one third of the endings are good. So if you’re looking for an easy love story without death or hardship, don’t look here!

Hotel Tutwin turned out to be a lot more intriguing than I expected. At first glance, it seems like a simple mystery visual novel, but as the story unfolds, it becomes something deeper, a mix of suspense, drama, and emotional storytelling that kept me curious from start to finish. The atmosphere of the hotel itself is fantastic: eerie, mysterious, and full of secrets waiting to be uncovered. I really enjoyed how the characters were written. Each one has their own motives and hidden layers, and discovering their stories felt like slowly solving a puzzle. The art style also deserves praise — it’s detailed and moody, which really enhances the setting. The soundtrack builds tension in all the right places, adding to the immersive experience. That said, Hotel Tutwin isn’t perfect. Some pacing issues show up here and there, with certain scenes dragging on while others end too abruptly. A few dialogue choices also felt like they didn’t change much, and I sometimes wished for a bit more player agency in shaping the story. Even with those flaws, Hotel Tutwin is a memorable and atmospheric experience. It’s the kind of game that keeps you guessing until the very end, and it delivers …

Personally not a fan of any of the romantic interests, and was definitely thrown off by how crude the drawings were

Honestly, this game does have its fault but it has its charms too. The main faults are the one soundtrack that plays over and over and the artstyle isn't the greatest. Though the characters sprites do have variety between the characters and they do give off the vibes of each character well. The story itself, wasn't the most developed and epic tale, I did get several laughs from the dialogue and wacky scenarios. The story was quite fast paced, which I think should be slowed down some so we can really spend time with the characters. Would recommend if you want something quick to play and don't want to think too hard on the plot. 👍 I see that there's a ton of potential with this dev. There's great stuff that needs some more work. I hope the dev will make future projects. I see a big future for them.🙏
