It’s Counter Strike Surf with all the satisfaction, smooth gameplay, frictionless do-overs, and speed running leaderboards. The only thing it really lacks is the 1,700 hours learning curve to get there. It’s great.

Hoverflow is a first-person movement platformer that puts momentum, precision, and mechanical improvement at the center of the experience. Developed and published by Simon In Motion, the game takes the familiar concept of surfing from classic movement-focused multiplayer games and turns it into a dedicated single-player adventure. The player is mysteriously transported away from home and forced to undertake a Pilgrimage that few have successfully completed. The story provides context for the journey, but the real attraction is learning how to move through increasingly demanding environments with speed and confidence. Surfing forms the foundation of the gameplay. Sloped surfaces allow you to glide across environments while preserving and manipulating momentum, requiring careful positioning rather than conventional running and jumping alone. The mechanics can initially feel unusual because success depends on understanding how movement inputs affect speed and direction. Tutorials help introduce these concepts, but genuine proficiency comes through practice. There is an especially satisfying moment when the mechanics finally become intuitive and a stage that once felt awkward suddenly…

I abso-freaking-lutely love this! This style is really awesome. I might even like this more than vholume. It needs some UI/UX love, and maybe some advanced tips hidden somewhere for schmoovement newbies. Sincerely sick when you start learning the mechanics. Some of these guys on the leaderboards are FREAKS!
