About Humanica

Ancient world

It all starts in 10,000 B.C. You will have to go through a difficult path of human development - from the Paleolithic to the Iron Age. The game features a massive technology tree, the progression of which will change your play style from time to time, forcing you to adapt to new conditions. Meanwhile, your settlement will grow, becoming larger and more technologically advanced.

Everyday life of settlers

You will be building, gathering, crafting various items, farming, animal husbandry and smelting bronze and iron. In the beginning you will not have an abundance of resources, so in the first years the main goal will be to survive. After all, the settlers must be fed and clothed.

Turn-based gameplay elements

The game process is divided into days. Each day is an iteration of a cycle, or turn, within which the settlers will have time to do a limited amount of work. Therefore, you should strive to keep the settlers working as efficiently as possible. As the saying goes - “Just One More Turn!”.

World map

You will have to explore a turn-based hexagonal world map. You can find useful resources on it: new seeds to grow, new animals to breed and much more.

Construction and landscape

The game features an unusual construction grid of irregular randomly shaped quadrilaterals. The landscape is editable, and consists of large square squares. If you suddenly dreamed about it, you will be able to dig out a mountain, or on the contrary build it!

Settlement Defense

Evil wild animals and nomads will want to stop you from prospering. Arm your settlers and build walls with towers to defend your settlement.

Other key features

  • The world is procedurally generated. At the beginning of the game you will be able to choose the desired landscape to your taste.
  • A system of laws and annual plans that will add to the game the ability to customize your playthrough style. Available annual plans can drop randomly, adding light rogue-like elements to the game.
  • The quality of tools determines the acceleration of certain jobs for residents. Go ahead and create iron and bronze axes and pickaxes!
This game is made by one person with love! I hope you will enjoy it!

This game is for sure a hidden gem, and has so much to offer. I wont spoil it, but the game will surprise you a lot with how much it has to offer. Perfectly addicting city builder and has so many good features.

A great city-builder set in the stone and bronze ages. In addition to the city-building there is a regional map to explore, which is kinda limited now, but its easy to imagine what it may offer as development progresses. Early Access but I haven't encountered a single bug. It's fun and fully playable now and we can assume it will only get better. I tried the demo, and purchased the game the next day. Give the demo a try if the concept of a stone-age city builder is at all appealing to you.

not a bad game, but a bit too much unfinished detail. a easy cozy city builder. good thing, easy to control, not "innovation" for depth element. you dont see some really block gate in the game.most of the thing the game will run auto. bad thing:poorly poorly balance number. all those clay/wood/bones/food. you either have so many,or you have so few...you have to switch on/off all time to create X number of rarely used thing. while metal tool and such is useful.it is gated by 3 level of extraction...:hand,miner,and a actual mine for 3 type of the same stone.....but it occupy the same grid...so u need to reach the final tech tree to clear a vein path.... there some bad balance on food. each food give you a tech point(prosperity). so giving higher level food =more prosperity=faster tech... nice except you got meat and raw meat so early it worth a little ,but all the veg is very high on the tech tree....it look so strange.after I unlock demostic and having my meat farm done,my progress soon is slower, carrot is higher value then a bread that take 2 stage to make?but my people prefer to ate meat not carrot, letting it riot. some number don;t add up too, goat give 4 hide…

Single Dev feel and good for those that want that. Art style is a little too kiddish for my taste.
