About Ancient Cities
Ancient Cities is a realistic, survival city builder in an immersive procedural environment. Lead the fate of your tribe through ancient times!
You will have to guide your people through generations, discovering and improving technologies, managing resources and population, building your city organically and facing other tribes in a fully simulated world and ecosystem.
Take your time to build your ancient city, step into our ancestors footsteps and get immersed in the ancient times.
In Ancient Cities you can play at any time and place of the European Stone Age. From the warm Mediterranean to cold Scandinavia and from the end of the Ice Age to the end of the Neolithic.
Ancient Cities reduces micromanagement through intelligent automation. Organise and build while your citizens perform the tasks that best suit their specific skills and knowledge.
In the regional game layer, you will be able to trade or attack neighbouring tribes or perhaps decide to migrate elsewhere if resources become scarce.
This is only the beginning, Ancient Cities has been designed as an ever-improving platform that supports the continuous introduction of new compatible content to explore new cultures and places throughout history. Stay tuned for new improvements and contents!

I tried to like this game, I honestly did. Gameplay is boring, settlers are dumb, storage and building system are a real pain. I`m sorry but this just isn`t it.8 found this helpful
I rather like Ancient Cities for what its worth. It runs like ♥♥♥♥, it's not balanced very well, many of the potential developments are spent relatively early on, and if you get to a certain point your population grows into unsustainable measures, but yes, I rather liked it. The thing is you expect these things to be ironed out, you are promised ambitious things in the future, you expect ambitious things in the future, and blinded by these promises, you grow to like the game. Despite all its wrongs, despite the years of nothing, despite the rust corroding holes in this car of potential, you grow to like it. But no more. You know, since my purchasing of this game and now, I think its been some few years, my brother has died, my great uncle has died, I have graduated high school, I have entered college, I've watched the Sopranos twice, Game of Thrones 3 times, and Breaking Bad maybe 8, and yet the most substantial updates I return to are new huts and tents. Too many years, not enough has changed, the car is a pile of rust in a desert, and I'm still thirsting, with no water to my lips. Perhaps wait 2 years, see what is done by then. Perhaps a decade, but by that point I'll be an em…6 found this helpful
After a few minutes massive FPS drops, unplayable. Temperatures are fine and latest drivers. Problem only in this game.3 found this helpful
More Like Ancient Tribes Simulator, not really a city builder. I bought into to this based on the trailer from years ago but should have waited...2 found this helpful
I really want to like this game. There are some very innovative, interesting parts about it. As annoying as it was at the start, I'm intrigued by the invisible tech tree that feels far more realistic - you discover the tech based on your skills in that particular area and you really don't know at what point each new option unlocks beyond a few items that are greyed out. The worker management system is a little unique, but fairly straightforward. That said... there are a few annoyances - It's hard to see the grid accurately at times and the weird "circle things instead of click" is...oddly unnecessary (since you CAN click as well for much better control). Lack of ability to store multiple types of items in, say, a storage building, is also frustrating. But the real killer is the speed, or rather, lack thereof and the super easy game play. I've played on both Mesolithic and Neolithic starts as well as multiple levels of difficulty.... it's just too darn easy. I spend most of the game just watching the game play itself. If you are competent in setting up your workgroups well and correctly prioritizing, it just...works. There isn't much to do. Like I said, I really like the…1 found this helpful
