About Primitive Society Simulator
Colonies x Grand Strategy
Fusing the intuitive management of Colony-Build games with the clear competitive stakes and vast scale of Grand Strategy.
Dive into diverse breakthrough tactics:
Early Rush • Cultural Expansion • Trade/Slavery • Migration • Enforce other tribes to tribute or become your vassal.
Combine these approaches, restarting to conquer new paths after each victory.
You will lead a branch of Ancient Chinese, starting by building a small tribe: crafting tools, constructing houses, hunting, farming, and raising livestock.
Then face 5 ethnic groups in Asia: Rongdi, Baiyue, Ancient Chinese States, Aryans, Assyrians.
From the eastern Yellow River basin to Mesopotamia – rule or be ruled.
Make other tribes submit, pay tribute, and provide you with slaves, armies, and resources.
Or prioritize reproduction through fertility worship.
Or embrace violence, train professional soldiers, and plunder extensively.
Set group schedules: labor, create culture, develop tech, or train.
Bedrooms, slave quarters, kitchens, meeting halls, granaries, execution grounds, and altars.
Execute slaves to suppress rebellions, OR sell them directly.
Must carve knowledge onto stone monuments to preserve it.
These monuments become learning tools for future generations.

Fantastic game. complex settlement builder with military and social systems that put it at the top of the genre event at this EA stage. The game looks and plays great and the systems and controls are intuiative so where translation isn't quite there yet, it's fine because you know what is meant. The building and tribe management is great, assigning leaders and sub-teams for scuedling and specialised work is something many have tried and PSS is maybe the first to succeed atleast in it's current state the system is great and it's nice to see a unique seeting, Ancient China isn't a games often go for outside of high fantasy and the game commits to that setting in tone and mechanics (matriarchal lineage, a cult tree alongside technology required to progress the game and megalithic altar construction.), only a few things still out of era being modern looking sheep and chickens (although that helps with legibility) and some modern politics with women being innately worse at military tasks (a social attitude which we have no evidence of developing until much later). The only other cons currently would be neutral rooms (storage, corridors, etc) not being paintable and a few minor bugs …3 found this helpful

I love the concept. Its a fun game. Still a work in progress but very playable. I have experienced no crashes. I love the generational population. I do hope they give me some more options with the slaves. Plenty of room to grow.1 found this helpful

This game s not for the weak willed! you must play until your eyes have melded into the inside of your sockets and the neck beard gods of strategy have blessed your endeavor. please save me.
I played a bit of the tutorial (because strangely it's built separately from a normal game) and a bit of the normal game, and this is essentially "Ancient China Simulator" set in the paleolithic times. You lead your unga bunga group of ten people and build your settlement, discover tech and conquer other settlements. Gameplay wise it plays quite similarly rimworld with some extra qols present and some qols missing. For instance pawns tasked with foraging with collect resources on their own instead of you microing each thing to harvest constantly. The part which annoys me the most is building, since there are some buildings which have fixed dimensions, some which do not, and some of these require secondary buildings to function as intended, but they're all in separate build tabs and I have to dig through them, when I really should be able to just click the placed building and have the option to build the extra stuff I need. The tech tree is somewhat reasonable, though the most advanced you can hope to become is knowing how to forge bronze. The culture tree I have my own problems with but I don't expect experts in that field to be making a video game. You can assign a leader and …
