Features
- Fast-paced and hardcore gameplay where you must not only shoot but make decisions in every moment. Who will be next? Who am I going to become?
- Neat synthwave soundtrack with 16 tracks from ALEX, CYBERCORPSE, Dupre, EMMETT BROWN, Reno and Wice.
- 169 levels in 13 chapters. Each chapter takes place in a unique location with its own style and music. When you complete the first tutorial chapter all chapters are unlocked. The chapter can be selected on chronological timeline at the bottom of "Play" screen. You can play chapters in any order but it's recommended to follow numerical one.
- Different types of gameplay: slow-mo, no powers and chapter where time moves when you move.

Huygens Principle is a very badly made 2D retro pixel top down twin stick shooter/brawler with some simple gimmick, your character and abilities change to the thing you just killed. That's all there is to it. It was slapped together with the craptastic Cocos2D engine, giving GameMaker Studio a run for it's money for worst video game engine in the world. The game has you running around shooting/bashing enemies with guns, baseball bats etc, there's no real cohesive or interesting plot or motivation to actually play the game. Think of it as a lame ripoff of Hotline Miami but with even worse graphics and gameplay. A choice was made to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution is locked and can't be changed, and there's no visual or graphics tweaks, so there's no way to improve the very lazy, mediocre visuals. To make matters worse, the implementation is so clumsy they couldn't manage to work out how to make the game display in full screen, it only runs in a window! A fun, fast-paced time-waster reminiscent of Stick Arena or something you'd find on Newgrounds. My friend complained that the window couldn't be resized but there's always fullscreen mode. When I launched the game I think the sound and music were disabled by default which was odd...for a minute I thought the game just had no audio.1 found this helpful
