ICE TENNIS by Park Yong-Pil is a stripped-down arcade sports game that reinterprets tennis through a minimalist, almost abstract lens. Rather than attempting to replicate the structure and realism of traditional tennis, it reduces the concept to a paddle-and-ball interaction system where precision and timing take center stage. The result feels closer to a modernized Pong-style experience than a conventional sports title, with the emphasis placed entirely on mechanical execution and reflexes. The gameplay is built around a simple but demanding control scheme. Players use mouse movement to control a paddle, and the speed and direction of that movement directly determine how the ball is struck. This creates a surprising level of nuance, as small adjustments in angle or timing can drastically change the trajectory and behavior of the ball. The addition of spin control further deepens the system, allowing players to experiment with different shot styles despite the otherwise limited mechanics.
