[/b] Akashicverse is a game developed by a small team, but it shines a lot brighter than most of the STGs in the market, including high budget ones. The art direction is masterful, the sound design is powerful and the overall aesthetics are probably some of the best ever made in the genre. This game is so synchronized with its OST that the absurd care that went through this title can't be understated. And man, the OST... It's so good that it could be sold by itself and it would be a damn good album. It's Nier and Umineko tiers of impressive. This game is, undoubtfully, a masterwork. One which really impresses me the fact that it came from a very humble origin, because this feels like a high budget game. Still, it has no mercy on any players who aren't ready to truly immerse themselves into the experience of battling unfathomable odds. Definitely the weirdest shmup ive ever played. Play Hellsinker first, itl help you appreciate this more, even though the games are only related in inspiration iirc. Game rules, stick with it to the true final boss. Its doable, trust

The hardest shmup ever made. One life, no 1UPs, and incredibly fast and dense bullet hell. Even the easy mode is impossible to 1CC. If you can beat this, you are more than a god.

A very, very unusual game with an interesting risk/reward system where you can "open" (aka. disable) your shield which does two things: -> Makes your shield recharge a lot faster -> Bullets grazed with the flaps of your now-open shield give you energy, which you can then use to pull off special moves with... Fighting game inputs! Yay! Not enough energy to do a special move? Death! Opened your shield at the wrong time? Death! Stuck between a thousand enemies moving faster than you can react? Death! Your shield is depleted? It won't activate until it's 50% charged which takes quite a bit of time, most likely, Death! I also have to mention that there are no extra lives, you die on a single hit if you're hit while your shield is open or depleted. Either start over for a 1cc or use a continue. Game has an "Auto-restart" option which makes you start from Stage 1 immediately after you die (I wish more games had this, it's just such a convenient thing to have). Yeah it's kinda hard if you couldn't tell. Get ready to use the practice mode a lot and good luck because- oh god, there is an extra stage DLC

this game wants you to suffer, it will throw pure bs at you, it will use the most nasty enemy patterns you have ever seen in a shmup, a single mistake can cost your ENTIRE RUN... but you are overpowered and so overcoming all of these can be a pretty fun task. don't get me wrong, i still think scoring this game isn't that different from taking a competitive game too serious, and you know how much mental drain that can be. but still this game has so many cool stuff i just can't stop admiring how insane and unhinged it can be. to begin with, your given 7 different specials "methods", these can cancel bullets and deal huge damage to enemies, which makes up for the pure insanity the danmaku in this game can be. to not spoil too much, these methods also have "sub methods", which inputting the method button again after casting one will trigger them, these also help really well with survival and scoring in general. can i also mention this game's whole aesthetic?, you know how the main inspiration for this one "hellsinker" also has a really cool vide and a very (inscrutable) aesthetic but this one?, man the entire stage feels like a rave when its going all at you, enemies in total sync w…
