Keg & Quest is a pretty simple idea on the surface. It is an idle RPG where I build up a hero, collect better gear and keep progressing even when I am not actively playing. I can work on my character, run through dungeons, improve equipment and slowly put together a build that works for me. What I like about it is that it does not completely remove the RPG part just because it is idle. There is still a decent amount for me to think about, especially once the gear starts getting more complicated. The equipment system is probably the best part for me. I can find items with different bonuses and build around the stats that actually suit my character instead of simply equipping whatever has the highest number. The newer equipment system adds prefixes and suffixes, while weapons can also be enchanted with fire, ice or chaos. That gives me more reasons to pay attention to what I am collecting and makes finding a really useful item feel much better. I like games where improving my character is about putting the right things together rather than just waiting for the next obvious upgrade. There is also a nice mix of things to work towards.
