Last Ascent

Last Ascent is an experience that blends psychological horror, buy–sell simulation, and survival elements. You control a character struggling with schizophrenia inside a three-story abandoned office building. The player starts inside the building. As the day–night cycle continues, during the nights you access the dark corners of the internet from your room’s computer, ordering and brokering illegal goods and delivering them to those in need.

• Purchased items arrive at the building’s rooftop via drone.
• There are 60+ different illegal products, each with its own rarity level and price.
• The product screen displays both buyers and sellers through the Buy and Sell interfaces. Since prices constantly fluctuate, making a profit or a loss depends entirely on the player’s decisions.
• Due to the character’s illness, it becomes increasingly difficult to see the screen clearly and maintain stable trading. To suppress these side effects, the player must purchase medication through a drug-ordering application on the computer, choosing from several different drugs. While medications may provide benefits, they can also cause harmful side effects and, in the long term, may make trading even more difficult.
• Some of the player’s deals anger rival figures, triggering dangerous enemies who may sabotage the building’s power or attempt assassinations. The player must remain cautious and alert at all times.
• Using the building’s CCTV system, you must monitor whether any unauthorized entry has occurred.
• In the event of a power sabotage, you must activate and refuel three different generators located on the lowest floor of the building.
• Depending on the player’s condition, it is essential to regularly read the emails received from your psychiatrist and make choices accordingly.

Each night, you connect to the Dark Web, participating in illegal markets as both a buyer and a seller. The money you earn is vital — you need it to buy medication and to survive. The voices grow louder. Hallucinations intensify. Reality begins to unravel. Worse still, your Dark Web activities echo into the real world. Blood-hungry serial killers are drawn toward the building. Which threats are real — and which exist only in your mind? Last Ascent confronts the player with a haunting question: Is the danger in your head… or waiting just beyond the door? Survival is not enough. Can you hold on to your reality?
