Lonely Astronaut

Lonely Astronaut is a very small arcade game with a pretty ridiculous idea behind it. I am controlling the corpse of a long abandoned astronaut floating around a cosmic graveyard, and I only have one button to control the broken jetpack. That is basically the entire foundation of the game, but I actually think the simplicity works well here. I am not learning complicated controls or dealing with a huge amount of systems. I am just trying to keep this dead astronaut moving through space without crashing into everything around me. The movement is what makes it fun for me. Pressing the button gives the astronaut a burst of thrust, but I still have to deal with the momentum and direction I am already moving in. It sounds easy until I am surrounded by objects and realise I have pushed myself into a terrible position. I have to get used to making small adjustments rather than constantly holding the button down. Once I start understanding the movement, I can get into a nice rhythm where I am carefully steering through the environment and trying to stay alive for as long as possible.
