Soooo much potential but hindered by annoyances Pros: Game is actually fun and graphics are fine for what the game is. Cons: The controls suck. Trying to aim your hook to cross an opening is annoying as heck. You'll die multiple times with your hook missing the target and attaching to walls and pulling you towards death. There's no aim assist for it or at least an auto attach to the target. Character will randomly roll when you don't want it. Rolling into crossfire, attacks and the enemy. The biggest negative is drinking a health potion will lock your characters movements..Even the special potion with shield is useless in a frenzied environment. And NO MAP! Hopefully if there's a sequel, all these will be addressed,. including the horrendous voice acting.2 found this helpful
Really wanted to like this game, but for some reason, the game keeps spiking all the time. And my computer runs Spiderman 2 on ultra. Tried on steamdeck and found the same issue. Not sure but feels like its not well optimized2 found this helpful
Just not all that inspired or exciting to me. It feels like some of the early progression/items/abilities should happen sooner. Instead it takes a while to obtain what seem like pretty basic/core abilities and items that would have made the gameplay better if you got them within the first 10-15 minutes instead of more than an hour later. There are still loads of upgrades and items to collect, so it's not like getting a few of the first ones earlier would detract from that. Some of the game design decisions seem a little odd as well. No map to speak of, but also not any distinguishing details or landmarks to navigate or learn your way around without a map, very graphically homogenous. Being locked into areas with no access to the shop or anything else is odd too; I don't see why I shouldn't be able to return to town or just take a break from one area to explore another one. Plus a handful of smaller things that start to add up. The game has potential, I think it just could have used a bit more polish and development. I don't hate it, but after a couple hours I also don't really have any desire to pick it back up again. If you have more patience than me, maybe it grows into a bett…1 found this helpful
This was a fun isometric action adventure game. Closest game I could think of was Zelda Link to the Past. The devs did a great job in adding a ton of stuff to discover and secrets to find. You could easily finish the game within 6-8hrs if you don't look to complete quests or aim for completion. The story is an fun pirate high seas adventure. The cast of characters are an interesting variety that add to the mystery of story. The gameplay is very much like a 2D Zelda but you can do more. Being able to land a combination made it easier to get through the backtracking. I did play this on keyboard and mouse but they have controller support. I personally found it easier to use keyboard and mouse. The only issue with the game is that it has no minimap. So for those who aren't use to navigating games without a minimap they may struggle. If you don't have a great memory I recommend taking screenshots and making notes of your progress throughout. Make use of the native Steam notes feature. it lets you take add screenshots and notes. Recommend this game for those who are beginners and those who have some experience with action adventure games. Some of the platforming puzzles do req…1 found this helpful
A solid game that felt only about 80-90% polished. The action combat had a problematically slow start for me, I considered not continuing because of its dullness. Once I got past the first few hours, the game became a lot more fun. I found about 95% of the collectibles and didn't feel motivated to hunt for the last ones (only one type of collectible is noted on the world map). Searching the whole world for a few last things seemed super unfun. Level design is pretty nifty, but the lack of identifiable landscapes made the niftiness be overshadowed by confusion. Often I'd come across splits in the path where, unknowingly, one would lead to an off screen collectible while the other led to forward progress. Which seemed okay, except that it became quite difficult for me to remember where the offshoots that I didn't explore were actually at if I had happened to progress. Once I reached the endgame and there was the opportunity to hunt down everything in past sections of the map, I had lost most of my navigation memory and was lost all over again. Polish is lacking, but I enjoyed my time with the game and would absolutely look out for any future games of similar style by th…
