Mayor May Knott

This is a really quirky, funny game where you rebuild a dilapidated small town with spooky vibes. The game isn't scary at all, other than maybe the first jump scare if you are startled easily. It's really more of a cozy game with creepy elements. Great game, and plays fantastic on the Steam Deck

Oh my stars & garters! I took a chance on this game & was not disappointed. It's like if Termina town from Majora's Mask was a game (with notable differences). The tags that apply the best are exploration & puzzle. The game play works on building up your confidence level so that you can talk to increasingly intimidating monsters. You build up confidence by completing task like fixing up the town or helping NPC's. There are tons of bad puns & there is plenty of parody music. The "Hall of Records" is used to to listen to songs about past residents that reward the player with crafting recipes, used to solve puzzles. Thankfully there is no stamina like a Harvest Moon style game, but what lurks in the dark might limit what you can do at the very beginning. The game is overall pretty chill despite appearances or visual theming. Any complaints I may have had were quality of life things, that were addressed by rewards through game progress. A solid recommendation.

A delightful creepy and comfy game about rebuilding a town. There's a wonderful sense of progression as you meet the residents, take care of their needs, and watch the town transform as your successes build off of each other. Full of humor and charm, it's criminally underrated.

Absolutely charming adventure

absolutely AMAZING game with a great loop and way more than I was expecting! Probably my favorite game I've played this year.

Mayor May Knott is yet another game from the revival of casual / cozy life sims. But has its own charm, pros and cast of characters to meet and help. In Mayor May Knott, you play as May, a shy and anxious girl who decided to flee her own insecurity by taking a train. And leave wherever the end of the line is. But, she ends up in a haunted town and accidentally found the deed of this town. Making her, its mayor. AUDIO Mayor May Knott whole sound ambiance is simple, minimalist and often sounds cozy. In this category, it's not where the game shines when it comes to audio. But rather via one of its mechanics: the Edjukebox. A jukebox who plays extremely silly and goofy songs to teach you some crafting and cooking recipes. All of these songs are stupid (in a good way) and often parody great artists or genres. It's silly and can give you a really good laugh. ART DIRECTION Mayor May Knott has a retro feel when it comes to its graphics. It's not super polished like you expect from a modern 3D game and often the models are way simpler than its competitors. It looks good, not incredible but it has its own identity. But I do have a small criticism on its protagonist model. I wish her…
