About Mech Skeleton

Mech Skeleton features a unique, high immersion locomotion system.

As a Mech Skeleton Pilot you decide the most effective tactic for each combat situation.

Attack the enemy head on, or be stealth waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike!!

The Mech Skeleton program was born out of desperate times.

In the beginning millions of lives were lost, allied soldiers were simply slaughtered by the seemly unstoppable PNA Death Droids.

It was a stroke of luck, or pure chance while operating in total darkness that we were able to build a weapon capable of pushing the PNA filth back into the dirt.

Using intel gained from a captured PNA scientist, the first Mech Skeleton was activated.
Our soldiers finally had the super human abilities needed to rise up against the enemy.

Initially the program was considered a great success, with the PNA crippled Mech Skeleton pilots were feared on the battlefield.

Until recently, when things changed.

Allied forces have been trying to pass off the recent strange behaviour as a small glitch in the system, nothing to worry about.

However this is no glitch.
The Mech Skeleton program and the technology driving must not be trusted.

  • Unique high immersion locomotion system, swing your arms to move about the world

Ok, was expecting the voice actor to yell "Straya!" and "smash dem' ♥♥♥♥♥" while fighting the mech. Would of been nice to see some sort of mech armour or such round you. Arm waving movement went of the rails a few times when trying to navigate and the graphics reminded me of CS 1.6. It's ok, think I got in a bundle but at $4.00 it seems reasonable.

I'm sure everyone will be different, but the movement style doesn't work for me. I had to rip my headset off my head because I was going to throw up in T minus TOO SOON. Every part of me wanted to play and enjoy this game, but if you are slightly prone to being dizzy while moving in VR, this may not be the game for you.
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
So the whole game took me a little less than 1 hour to complete. I had a lot of fun. I think it's a good deal for the normal price at $3.99USD and one of the better deals on the VR Spring Sale on Steam for $1.59. This is fast-paced arcade action shoot 'em up with arm-swing locomotion and the game also has some stealth portions. You have a gun on one hand and a shield on the other. Both gun and shield gun have reloads. So you do have to use your shield strategically when you can't dodge. You have to reload when it's safe to do so or you'll die. Everything dies in one shot, including you and enemies. There's some enemies that you have to place strategic shots though. I loved the stealth portion. Keep in mind, every part of this game is set pieces. So you traverse the map, but most of the action will go down exactly the same way. So with stealth as long as you memorize the patrols, it shouldn't be too hard to get by the enemies. Still it was fun for me to figure out where the hiding spots were and how to best get by the patrols. I was able to get finish the game with a 2 sensor setup, but I don't recommend that. I w…

For $4 this game is worth playing. It is not the best looking game and can be frustrating at certain times because of the challenge or lack of practice. But for the price it has enough content to be satisfying. 6/10.

If you guys are curious, we tried the game out and we made a review about it showing only the first levels to not spoil everything ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZU6n1ztuPJw In short, the game has some retro feel to it, which we like. The stealth gameplay can be exciting. The levels are diverse and definitely not easy to get through, which is great and the voice actor is done well. You use your arms to move around, which helps against motion sickness. At least we didn't get any! It's not expensive either, only 4 euro. I'd say try it out too to support the indie dev! The developer is Hayden Else and he is unable to see in one eye and legally blind in the other. It didn't stop him from building a VR game though, actually in VR he is able to see a lot more. I think its awesome to see VR do more than just games and fun.

I really like this game. The movement style feels quite natural for me and I have no ill effects from the motion. Environments are cool and the game plays really well. Great price too!
