What a peaceful day! As the sun sets and the moon begins to shine its light over the village, a young witch finishes her busy day of potion making by hanging her hat and going to bed. Her cat, Mona, doesn't want to go to bed though. She's more interested in the treats the Witch left out! But things don't go as planned when the Witch's hat falls on Mona's head and everything comes to life. Now she has to turn everything back to normal!Mona and the Witch's Hat Deluxe is a homebrew game made for the Game Boy Color, and is a remake of the original Mona and the Witch's Hat from 2018. This "Deluxe" or "DX" version of Mona and the Witch's Hat features a brand new soundtrack, full color graphics, and new animations. It features the same four levels as the original version, and can be completed in about 20 minutes.Made using GBDK and Zal0's ZGB, a small game engine for making Game Boy homebrew games.

I also played the original and loved the entire atmosphere of the game. I am glad to see it more accessible to the fortunate that stumble across it. Mona is my idol. Also the music on the outdoor level reminds me of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone on GameBoy Color which is awesome. On the topic of meowfriends, if your life circumstances allow please consider rescuing from a shelter. FUN CAT FACT: Female cats tend to favour their right paw more than males.3 found this helpful

This game is very cheap and very short. It's alright but it could be better. The cat is nice. I don't like the skull though, it's too cheap for me. I beat the entire game in 4 minutes.2 found this helpful
A cute platformer with a fantastic soundtrack which I'll be buying shortly! I own this game on gameboy and I'm excited to play it in a higher resolution and with full color. The manual and play frame are a nice touch, and it reminds me of playing on a Super Gameboy.2 found this helpful
Such a very short game i play, it feels like one of those you can play inside a bigger game file. Lack of characters introduction (if you don't read the manual). I was expecting more to happen, like different ending. Just a simple game...probably a prototype of a bigger project, who knows?,1 found this helpful
Loved the original and it's awesome to see it on Steam and the fact that it is free makes it a steal! Adorable and charming. Short and sweet. Plays and feels great. Visually the game was always cute and in color it's even better. The new soundtrack is very enjoyable, I even purchased it, it's listed at only 99 cents! There's even multiple solutions/routes and a manual which is a nice inclusion. A Game Boy homebrew classic. I hope to see even more from the developer, I recommend trying the Radical Zomboarding demo, it has the lovable Mona in it!1 found this helpful
