About Mr. Mueller's Grand Experiment

In 1830’s England, living conditions for the most vulnerable members of society were horrific. Upon witnessing the plight of young orphans in his city, George Mueller decided he would throw caution to the wind and step out onto the ledge of a bold proposition: If God exists, then He would provide for Mueller as Mueller cared for the vulnerable little ones around him.

Live the first few months of this strange, impossible story as Mueller’s orphanage ceases to be a crazy dream and becomes the best kind of inspiration.

Told as a fully voice-acted novel with nine distinct endings based on your choices, with magnificent hand-drawn art and an original soundtrack, discover what drove Mr. Mueller to start one of the world's first private orphanages without any fundraising whatsoever. Will you steer the project to success, or will your influence force the orphanage to close its doors?

With a vibrant cast of characters, a wide range of settings, and surprising plot twists around every corner, the orphans of Dover, England are waiting for you!
POSITIVE POINTS:
- “Mr. Mueller's Great Experiment” is an interactive novel with nine different endings based on your choices. - The entire novel is dubbed, and it also features an original soundtrack. - The art is hand-drawn and has a very personal style. - You live as an assistant to one of history's most notable figures: George Mueller, a man who watched orphans die as children on the streets of 1830s England, and decided that he would care for them, no matter what it took.
NEGATIVE POINTS:
- The novel has religious undertones that will not appeal to everyone. - Its length is very short.
CONCLUSIONS:
Mr. Mueller's Great Experiment is an interactive novel that offers a historical setting rarely seen in video games. Fully dubbed, and boasting a very personal art style and an original soundtrack, it makes it well worth playing, even if it is a rather short gaming experience.
EVALUATION:
The video game came about as an end-of-course project by a group of students at Cedarville University, led by missionary Scott Tipton: it is certainly a very personal work, which makes a difference. Although the religious theme of this interactive novel wi…

The art-style is lovely and the voice acting very charming. I actually wish there was a way to hide the text or at least make it less visible to see more of the scene and be more immersed in the narration. Not a lot of game-play though; Its a visual novel in the truest sense, a few choices here and there is all you get but it does lead to 9 different endings and there is also a really helpful chart to see the different branching paths. You can even replay any node from the chart and play out the other choices so its very convenient for completionists. I didn't care much for the titular character Mr Mueller, he seemed a bit out of touch with reality and at times hypocritical. He actually made me shout at the screen on more than one occasion. Also the ending or at least the final ending according to the chart was a bit bizarre.
I get the loaves and fishes reference but it just seemed a bit silly.
Overall its a pretty surreal slice of 19 century England. I enjoyed it enough to check out a few endings. Recommended if you want something chill. EDIT: Just discovered that this was a real guy. Regardless I stand by what I said about him and remain skeptical of the e…
