About Native Hunter

Inspired by a REAL indigenous tribe, where they live on an island called "North Sentinel Island" where they are completely isolated from society. Until then, we know almost nothing about what they do to survive, their language or even their culture. Native Hunter gives the player the possibility of living the experience in the body of an indigenous person completely isolated from society. Where it will only have available resources found in nature, and then all of this will be in your hands to survive the way you want against other players, animals or even indigenous tribes that roam the open map.
Inside the game you will find several fragments of history scattered in the form of cave paintings, which will guide you to the path of initiation of the tribe you want to become a member of. And then after finishing all the necessary tasks, the character will gain specific characteristics, related to special skills of creation and physical appearance. All of this will happen online with other players on the server, if you choose to play Online!
Who dictates the rules of what to do in the game is you! In an open world map, there are huge possibilities for interactions or exploration where nothing will hold you back in a monotonous story, as actions are taking place at all times throughout the map!
BUILDING, RESOURCE GATHERING AND CRAFT

There are several structures that you can manufacture to build houses, this ranges from foundations to paintings and decoration chairs, giving the player the possibility of creating large constructions where they bring comfort, or even a fortified base to defend against enemies that can find you anytime!
And for you to be able to build these structures, as well as many other items available in the game, you need to collect resources found in nature according to the need for each item.
With an advanced gathering and crafting system, more than 100 items are available for crafting at the start of Early Access, as well as advanced workbenches that provide crafting for advanced consumable items or refined equipment.
CULTIVATION AND DOMESTICATION

Beyond the challenges of survival, players have the opportunity to actively participate in the domestication of wild animals found throughout the map. Domestication allows not only for animal reproduction but also offers options for riding, combat, and protection. However, it's crucial to ensure that these animals are well-fed and secured in specially built enclosures, equipped with structures like fences and small gates.
To keep the animals fed, players can cultivate a variety of vegetables through an advanced cultivation system. The cultivation process requires special care, including the use of water and fertilizers during the plants' maturation period. These vegetables can not only be consumed to satiate players' hunger but can also provide special effects for a short period, offering a strategic advantage during the survival journey.
SURVIVE

Surviving in this unforgiving world demands players' hunting, fishing, and building skills. The constant need for food and hydration requires players to become true hunters and adapt to all available forms in nature to ensure their survival.
Additionally, dynamic weather changes, such as storms and heatwaves, can drastically affect the character's well-being, requiring adaptive strategies to face environmental challenges.
EXPLORE

The vast map offers countless exploration opportunities, from large islands with underground caves to mysterious ruins at the bottom of the ocean. Players have complete freedom to decide their destinations and activities in this constantly evolving open world. A recent addition is the scattered villages throughout the map, where players can interact with local inhabitants and meet their basic needs to prevent them from becoming sick or hungry. This dynamic adds an extra layer of responsibility and immersion to the exploration experience, encouraging players to engage with the virtual community more deeply.

Just bought this game, It plays great on steam deck with xbox controller. Really fun to play and very smooth gameplay. Love that you can build a base and farm crops and tame animals, just my kinda game. Highly recommended2 found this helpful
FAR from finished, you can't even progress in crafting. it says you need clay to make a furnace, you need to craft clay in a mortar and pestle with sand and water, but they crafting recipe does not exist. you cannot even spawn in clay with the admin panel. game has great potential, but atm it is pretty much unplayable.2 found this helpful
It's interesting gameplay. I find that there is alot to do because my character is always hungry and thirsty so most of the game is spent fishing or hunting and creating jars for water Gardening is so slow and the food seems to be for potions that are pretty hard to make since red flowers are rare and you need 40 to make 1 healing potion. My character did well in battle with the junk spear except against the bear who I couldn't kill. The bone armor seemed to help. Traveled to a southern island and saw interesting shapes but no way I could see to do anything there. Feels like an unfinished and unpolished game. Not sure if there is more being added but sure needs something. The food use is way too high. The fridge helps but couldn't keep up with mr pig.1 found this helpful
Not recomended, Abandoned game!1 found this helpful
Native Hunter is an ambitious open-world survival sandbox that sets itself apart through its unusual thematic focus and broad mechanical scope. Developed and published by A.P.S, the game places players in the role of an isolated individual living entirely off the land, with no modern technology, no guided narrative, and very few safety nets. Rather than centering on post-apocalyptic ruins or sci-fi survival tropes, the game emphasizes primitive living, ecological balance, and long-term self-sufficiency, offering a survival experience that feels grounded in nature and personal agency rather than scripted objectives. From the very beginning, Native Hunter makes survival feel earned. Players must immediately concern themselves with basic needs such as hunger, thirst, and shelter, and the game offers little in the way of hand-holding. Food must be hunted, fished, or cultivated, and each option carries its own risks and rewards. Early encounters with wildlife can be dangerous, and inefficient planning can quickly lead to starvation or exposure. This initial vulnerability creates a strong sense of tension and immersion, as even simple goals like securing a steady food supply or crafting…1 found this helpful
