About Nectar of the Gods
Nectar of the Gods is an unquenchable head-to-head real-time strategy / tower defense game where bugs battle over the finest beverages. You must strategically deploy a chosen bug family, nimbly navigate the countertop, and claim liquid nirvana!
In Nectar of the Gods you will embody Beetle Brigade, The Hive, and Spidey Party. Each bug family has 8 unique bugs with special abilities and quirks. Examples include a Rhino Beetle that propels fellow beetles forward with it's mighty stampede. And a Queen Bee that boosts your team's resources by producing precious royal jelly. All of the bugs have sampled the sweet sweet nectar of the drink industry and are counting on you to coordinate a winning drink against any bugs standing in your way. In order to deliver this bubbly bliss, you will need to maximize every bug's contribution, while squashing anything your opponent or the countertop can throw at you.
I was inspired to make Nectar of the Gods by the "rock paper scissors" tactics and mental reflexes of real-time strategy games. I love the idea of bite sized asymmetrical battles where you have to think quick on your feet and rely on your mastery of the units available to you. And bugs are rad!

This game cannot be played as intended.[/quote] Nectar of the Gods is a very unusual and (perhaps needlessly) convoluted strategy game that, despite the complexity, is ultimately just a playerless PVP soldier attack/defense game... the overarching game meta is all about having more resources and spamming better units faster, but, in fairness there are some deeper strategy elements... that nobody got into, because this is a dead PVP game. You can play against the AI but this is pointless, and it's clear from the intention... and the non-free nature of the game (check out the insane price the developer is charging to unlock the full game) that this is intended to be a PvP game with hopes of "going viral". Spoiler: It did not go viral. This is a dead PvP game. Why did it fail? [i]Almost every PvP exclusive game on Steam fails.[/i] Only a tiny proportion of them "go viral". Cute and charming, like a flash game but not very entertaining. Dead PvP.

I was browsing the free multiplayer games looking for garbage to laugh at with a friend and instead stumbled upon one of the weirdest but most enjoyable games I have ever seen. Everything about this game has been enjoyable and I would definitely suggest you grab a friend to play this with. Currently a contender for my top free game you should get.
