About Nettle
This game is an indie, passion-project single-player survival RTS game designed to put the player's species on a foreign and hostile land, and let the player lead them from humble beginnings to an eventual complete exploitation of an unknown world.
You will have to find said planet to populate. Though, you should be wary of the space anomalies occupying specific planets and solar systems. After descending to a planet's surface, your objective becomes to find a way to brave this new world, teeming with alien life.
- Gather resources like wood, stone and food. Eventually, you might even find a way to refine them into something more precious?
- Explore different biomes, lead expeditions into ruins or even wilder parts of the planet!
- Build, develop and expand your colony to prosper.

The game’s 2D art style might not impress everyone visually, but personally, despite its simplicity, I did not hate it. It is nothing memorable, sure, but at least it does not assault your eyes the moment you launch it, which nowadays is almost a compliment. The real problem starts with the gameplay. After the first ten minutes, you can already smell something burning. The structure becomes clear pretty quickly, and the game seems to revolve mostly around exploration. By exploring, you earn the research points needed to progress. The issue is that the game explains almost nothing. It throws you into the abyss, wishes you good luck, and then disappears like a tutorial written by someone who had a train to catch. The introduction is basically nonexistent, which can quickly discourage players who do not immediately figure out how everything works. To make things worse, the mechanics themselves feel very limited and not particularly original. In the end, it feels like a school project or a test build that started with a few decent ideas but ended very badly. There was potential here, not exactly Game of the Year material, but at least something that could have been pleasantly playab…14 found this helpful
"Nettle" is a laughably bad attempt to make a single player RTS, and the result was a disaster... shallow gameplay, a pointless narrative about populating some other planet, and some of the worst graphics ever to insult gamers. Weirdly, people actually played this, and there's no explanation for that, because this really is junk. The developers gave up on this 10 months ago. It's destined to remain unfinished. This junkware is just polluting Steam and making it difficult for gamers to fully finished, completed games. That's not good for gamers. The technical execution of this game is shallow and simplistic, just enough to tick the boxes required to get something (anything) published on Steam, rather than investing the huge amount of effort and budget needed to create a fully fledged, comprehensive, high quality product. This feels like a tech demo more than a full game. In terms of visuals, this features really godawful MS-Paint tier "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this l…11 found this helpful
I spent 3 hours with this game and it has a lot of potential. In the current build, there are some challenging bugs that hopefully will be addressed in the next update. Graphically the game is not for everyone as it throws back to the 16-bit days. Music and sound effects are decent. Controls are good and the intro walkthrough is enough.2 found this helpful
i mean the concept is cool but theres no way to get to most if not all of the game due to the impossibility of getting any freaking research points2 found this helpful
