About Nimbatus - The Space Drone Constructor

You are the Captain of the Nimbatus – the biggest mobile drone factory ever made. Design your own unique drones to explore a physics-based universe. Survive by shooting your way through completely destructible planets in different biomes,
compete against autonomous drones built by other players or enjoy complete creative freedom in the sandbox.

Let your imagination run wild

Choose from more than 75 physically simulated parts. The drone construction workshop enables full creative freedom.

Explore three different game modes

 • Survival campaign: Pick one of six diverse captains, navigate the universe and grow your arsenal while facing overwhelming odds.
 • Sandbox: Get creative with unlimited power. Adjust game parameters to your liking, create your own challenges or conquer the universe with endless resources at your disposal.
 • Competitive arenas: Show your engineering skills to the world. Battle other players in several arenas such as Sumo, Racing, Brawl & Catch.

Mine entire planets

You’ll encounter countless procedurally generated planets that are fully destructible and rich in resources, each with their own unique properties, climate zones and enemies.

Automate your drone to the fullest

Take the additional challenge and construct fully automated space drones by combining
sensors and logic parts. Use your inventions in singleplayer or measure your programming skills against other players.

Choose your weapon and upgrade your ship

Fight with endless weapon combinations in the campaign or build your own custom
weapons from scratch in the weapon workshop by researching the tech tree. Upgrade your mothership to aid you on your mission and shift the odds in your favour.

✦ AI summary

Players praise the game's unique building system and sandbox gameplay with roguelike elements, though some find it genuinely challenging and atmospheric. Common complaints center on the game's roguelike structure forcing difficult choices between rewards, balance issues that can feel unfair, and a mismatch between marketing and actual gameplay—some expected a progression-based building game but got more of an FTL-like deck-building experience instead. The developers have stated the game is complete and won't receive major updates beyond critical fixes, which frustrates those hoping for balance

Underrated sandbox-rougelike-engineering game with an (actually) unique building system. The snakes are terrifying.

This game is pretty fun, but the one thing is that it really triggers my FOMO, I don't want to pick between two rewards, I want both, but the game structure doesn't really let you do that. Also, as a perfectionist, I just hate taking damage, and want to harvest every resource on every planet every run because I'll never get it again. Other than that, it's fine. Also, don't expect update from this game. The devs have openly said it's a "complete title" and that it's up to their vision as is. It's not changing apart from critical Unity updates to vulnerabilities.

This game is really not what it markets itself to be. I expected a game about progressively getting better at constructing, mining, fighting, etc. Instead of a build-a-ship FTL clone. If that sounds interesting to you, don't bother. It's bad at being a build-a-ship FTL clone.
