About Nexuiz
✦ AI summary
Dominate fast-paced arena combat against up to 32 players while wielding over 100 game-changing mutators that alter physics and rules on the fly. Nexuiz revives competitive twitch-based FPS gameplay with stunning visuals, balanced weapons, and dynamic environments that keep every match unpredictable.
Powered by CryENGINE 3, Nexuiz reinvents Arena FPS gameplay.
For centuries the Kavussari and the Forsellians have waged war. They have a fragile truce but due to their seething disgust of each other they still pit their warriors against each other in arenas rather than on the fields of war.
Those episodes of lethal combat are now broadcast throughout the galaxy, as entertainment… a spectacle known as… The Nexuiz Competition: An arena based first person shooter where you can alter the rules of the match and laws of physics while you dominate opponents in ever-changing hostile environments bleeding with hatred.

DO NOT BUY. GAME IS UNSUPPORTED. SERVERS ARE SHUT DOWN. VALVE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWING THIS GAME TO BE SOLD.8 found this helpful
nex-to-unplayable. the servers for this game shut down years back so without a firewall rule it doesn't really boot up.2 found this helpful
Rating
2/10
Intro
Honestly, it doesn't take long to find out why this game failed. Why release an arena shooter with only Team Deathmatch? Why limit your player-base with something as graphically intensive as Cry Engine 3? Why is offline support so bare-bones? You're better off playing the Unreal Tournament series instead, they also have much more modes and customisation for quick games of fragging.
Positives
+ Good soundtrack. + Good level design.
Negatives
- Weapons lack impact. - There's only Team Deathmatch. - Official servers have been taken down. - Weapons don't look distinct enough to identify what they're supposed to be in the middle of a match. - Limited offline bots. Even on the easiest difficulty (the only difficulty you can pick by the way), they're still accurate aimbots. - Poor aesthetics and graphics. They may be shiny, but they make it hard to see crucial items on the maps. Meaning, you get the worst of both worlds. Poor visibility, because of visual noise and resource hogging, because of Cry Engine 3. Fun for a bit, but lacks any real lasting appeal.
Played this on release when I had never played another arena style FPS and thought it was kinda fun. Looking back.. yeah please delist gaben
This game plays exactly like Splitgate 1/2, but came out in 2012.
