This is kind of a mix between beat 'em up and shoot 'em up with an original art style I've not seen anywhere else before. It's that and the humor obvious in the trailer that attracted me in the first place. The art has nice, vibrant colors and is initially attractive, but it doesn't hold up in the long run because the drawings are too simplistic and the backgrounds are too repetitive. The humor is good, I liked how they made the writing expressive with effects and fonts, but it didn't make me laugh. The music eventually turns out to be disappointing and repetitive. While playing, the heroes and enemies almost always run, which is different, and the fighting can be fun. However, you realize at one point that the dash move is too useful compared to the other moves and you end up using mostly that. You can buy weapons of the melee and thrown varieties and, I can't believe I'm writing this, there's too many of them. You can find skins that appeal, but the rapidity of unlocks is overwhelming. In Remote Play coop mode, there's chaotic entertainment to be had, but because of special effects and shaking, you often end up losing sight of where you are. It otherwise works well enough. Ninjin: Clash of Carrots is a fast, colorful action game that wears its personality loudly and proudly, blending classic beat-’em-up sensibilities with modern indie design and a surprisingly flexible combat system. Developed by Pocket Trap and published by Maximum Entertainment, the game throws players into a whimsical world where ninja animals battle hordes of enemies over the most absurdly serious objective imaginable: stolen carrots. While the premise is intentionally silly, the execution is sharp, energetic, and mechanically confident, making Ninjin far more than a novelty title built on humor alone. At its core, Ninjin: Clash of Carrots is a side-scrolling action game that emphasizes speed, positioning, and constant motion. Enemies flood the screen from multiple directions, forcing players to juggle offense and defense at all times. Attacks feel immediate and responsive, and combat rewards aggression balanced with smart stamina management. Dodging, jumping, and attacking flow together smoothly, creating a rhythmic loop where hesitation is often punished. Unlike more traditional brawlers that focus on slow, heavy hits, Ninjin leans toward frantic encounters that border on bull…1 found this helpful
Very neat beat'em up, cool pixel art, nice soundtrack, just an overall very solid experience :)
Very fun game to put an hour into at a time. This game doesn't seem like something I'd like on a first glance, but it was one of my favorite games to 100%. If you are going for achievements, make sure to set the game to version 1.4. 8/10
Underrated gem.
