Not For You

This game is, simply put: full of heart. A truly unique experience. It was fun and funny, and it made me think a little bit, and by "think", I'm not just talking about problem-solving, but philosophically too. I definitely laughed multiple times. If you're in the mood for something *different*, and have 45-60 minutes, you should check this one out.

lets be honest, i went in looking for easy achievements but what i got was a deep and thought provoking experience that got me a bit misty in the end (what? im not crying your crying! wanna fight about it?). anyway, starting with the review breakdown.. the writing was great! the overarching narrative in each of the games and in the interviews unlocked following the completion of each game was great. really drew me in and had me hooked. the gameplay was interesting. breaking the game down into separate stories or sections was a fitting way to convey the ideas being put forth in the writing. some of the platforming in the box game was a bit janky as the box hero tended to slide when he would jump and then land making for some do overs in certain areas (specifically the water section). skateboarding cow game had to be the most fun. but the somber tone of the other games kinda hit home. in the end the game was great and if youre thinking of checking it out please do and show the dev some love. that being said... this part goes out to the dev, dont give up! i know how hard it is to battle with ones own inner monologue but dont give up! im also an aspiring writer and even if nothing…

If was fun... Loved Boxman, the ending totally worth the play. Clock game hit me hard, hit to close to home. Sometimes in life lately, (Having a long-term illness), I think why can’t it just stop now, why can’t it just end now, but then I force myself to remind myself to never wanna give up, never wanna be the coward that gives up. I wasn't crying I had something in my eye. Liked the cow game and the falling box game... I couldn't find any other games, but it was good. Thank you for the game Thomas.

Not For You is a strange little collection of short stories and experiences, and I think the best way to play it is without expecting a normal game. Instead of giving me one big adventure, it gives me several smaller experiences that I can play in whatever order I want. One minute I can be dealing with a skating cow and the next I am dealing with something completely different. It is weird, but I think that is the main appeal. What I liked most is how unpredictable the whole thing feels. The different sections do not all try to play the same way, and some are more focused on walking around and taking things in while others are more like little interactive stories. There is also a lot of humour mixed into the more serious parts. I never really knew what the next section was going to be about, which helped keep me interested because I wanted to see how far the game was willing to take its strange ideas. The presentation also works well for this kind of project. It has a colourful cartoon look and the different scenarios have their own personality. 11/\10 That's it. I'm starting the fandom. If you're after graphics, or maybe gameplay, this really is "Not for you," but if you're after a story, then it is. The game isn't that long, since you can complete it in under an hour and get all the achievements. Each story was great. I'm not a person who cries a lot, but I ended up tearing up from the clock game. The game has subtitles (except for a few parts in the boxman game) and while it does say controller recommended (which I did borrow for this), it didn't seem like it was necessary. As much as I am praising the game, I will admit there are a few bugs. The only ones I've seen are in the boxman game with falling through the map (it did happen to me, and I had to restart because of it.) I found the hidden minigame, though it isn't much of a game as just a big collection of books, and I can't wait to read more of them. If you have a moment make sure to try this game. And if you don't have much time, just make sure to play the clock game and witness the MS paint experience in the boxman game.
