About Omnibion War
5 years have passed since the victory of the Coalition of United Colonies over the Omnigans. But the fragile times of peace and prosperity were again disrupted. Once CUC allies, The Hellhounds now unleash chaos and violence throughout the galaxy. They will stop at nothing in order to gain control of Omnibion, a powerful ancient device created by the Omnigans.
Become Jaeden, ace pilot of the late “Icarus” squad and strap yourself in as you again fire up the mighty engines of the A.A.V.G. gunship. Its immense firepower and the ability to rapidly transform between a space jet and a flying mech make it the humanity’s most advanced fighting machine.
Take full advantage of its destructive potential and put your pilot skills to the test against the incoming Hellhound hordes in various parts of the galaxy. Diverse mission objectives will take you to the vacuum of space, lava deserts or underwater worlds of distant planets. Load up your guns and upgrade your mech as you fight to save the galaxy once and for all!
Omnibion War takes its inspiration from classic on-rails shooters of the past such as Aces of the Galaxy, Panzer Dragoon and the Star Fox series.
Throwback to the simpler times when shoot’em ups and arcade shooters were ruling the market and allowed us to spent countless hours both in arcades and at home, blasting our way through increasingly difficult enemies.
Omnibion War is an indie game through and through, developed by a 2-men studio from Chile as a passion project and homage to the aforementioned times in the 90’ and very early 2000’.

Wow, the controls suck. Can't get through the spaceship on level 3 because you die if you crash into something and there are no checkpoints and you also have to read while doing that. Some voice acting could ease that somewhat and maybe being able to take like 3 crashes instead of insta deaths. They should have stuck to only the Rail Shooter bits, anything else is terrible. And my god, the terrible soundtrack feels so out of place.3 found this helpful
Game appears to have never been balanced at all. There is no health bar that I can see anywhere, and the first mission is way too hard for a mission that is supposed to be about learning the game. As it is, I'd say this was balanced for experts only. Avoid.2 found this helpful
Who in hell thought it was a good idea to make the ship completely turn around after moving the joystick back two times with an unstoppable animation? In a game with that needs precision steering in at least two absolutely frustrating stages? Who? This could have been a good game. But it definetly isn't. On-rail stages are just bland. Free movement ones are a frustrating gallore of bugs and bad design decisions of all types. Stuck camera issues, weird hit boxes that needs neurosurgeon precision to hit them, horrendous ship controls (really, who thought that was a good idea?), an absurd use of a completely unnecesary energy system (frigging auto-aim consumes energy), a mech transformation gimmick that it's only useful for suicidal attacks and make yourself lost, no way of recovering health unless restarting to a checkpoint... Just 10 horrendous stages of a game that could have been way better with just a bunch of quality of life updates. Nothing worth mentioning in the graphics part. Music consists in some generic electric guitar solo that i would dare to say it's the same track in all of the stages. Story is there, but it's as boring as the rest of the game.
Just saying, but I do have a curator page. If you like my remarks about games, you can find more of them here: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/44130985-TDP%27s-Gaming-Escapades
You know, it's pretty rare for me to just quit a game without even finishing the first level. And when that happens, there's something very wrong with that game. Maybe the game has such a bad performance that I decide my time is not worth trying to fix it, or it plays so awfully that I decide doing anything else is more beneficial. Omnibion War belongs to the second group. Now, I know that I'm being too harsh on a game that is supposed to be a passion project, but that's how I am. I am pretty short fused and will get pretty angry with a game if it proves to be way too problematic to the point of being unplayable. Allow me to explain what went wrong and what I found in the 18 minutes I spent playing this game so you can see what I mean.

The user interface is simply awful. Not only it's aesthetically unpleasant to look at, but it doesn't even work correctly. I have to click on the screen once to activate mouse support and be able to use it, and sometimes clicking on specific …
I'm enjoy playing old-school style shoot'em up rail shooter indie game and not bad at all and the only con here is the control on free movement is kinda hard to control it
