About One Night in Kawami

Welcome to the City of Rivers!

In One Night in Kawami, you play Max, who is about to meet an online acquaintance for the first time: Tanya. She will be your friendly guide in this metropolis where tradition and technology converge - but other than checking the sights, are there other reasons for this meetup? Only one way to find out...

It's Your First Time In the Big City; Make It Count

You will get a first look at a longer story in this short visual novel penned by Jigu (Cobra Kai 2: Dojos Rising, Town of Zoz). This fifteen-minute tale offers slightly different outcomes on the final stretch.
(Feel free to save and load it before pressing the button. Once you get there, you will know.)

Original Visuals by Brazilian Artists

Featuring character art by SlowPumpkins and backgrounds by Nanda Doti, get ready to meet Kawami's coolest citizens...

Dunking on Annoying Wannabes

... and some other guy, apparently? No one knows who he is or cares. Every city has one of those, I guess.

Distorted Guitars!

If you are as into indie & alternative rock as we are, put on your phones for this. One Night in Kawami features a curated soundtrack to explore the City of Rivers' nightlife. (Creative Commons, full credits in the game)

Kawamian Voices Will Not Be Silenced

The game features voice reactions by Jonna-Lynn Alonso, Dashawn Ricks, Vanessa Benoit, and casting director Aaron Moy - respectively, Tanya, Gilbert, Inga, and Mohawkadour.

Stream 233 - One Night in Kawami 🎧🎧 Developer : Brand New Whatever Publisher : Brand New Whatever https://store.steampowered.com/app/2615810/One_Night_in_Kawami/ After catching a train with a girl a month earlier, the two of you meet up for a date in the city. You stroll the city, enjoying each others company, and eventually end up at a club. Your data has secretly been planning to take you to your favourite band, and when she sneaks you backstage, reveals a shocking secrete with global implications, leaving you with a terrible decision to make. To be honest, that's it ! The whole game, and all endings can be clocked in 15 minutes. There is nothing more beyond what is described above, and the game leaves you on this huge cliffhanger just as it's getting good. It's as if the game isn't finished, or was a tech demo, but nowhere does it say this. It's just bloody annoying !

One Night in Kawami is not a game, it's an e-book that's been dumped on Steam masquerading as a game. As a visual/interactive novel, this doesn't feature any notable gameplay, it's just a lot of clicking through badly written dialogue that would never have been accepted or published in print, which poses the question, "How did something this badly written end up on Steam?". When someone hoping to become an author is unable to get published in print, they spend $100 and dump their high school fan-fiction onto Steam, under the guise of a game. This weird garbage e-book is just a short story intended to try draw attention to other works from an already failed author... and it's not even free as the developer is begging for whopping $5 donations for this cringefest fan-fiction. $5 donation for an advertisement for another crap e-book. No wonder indie developers have such a hard time trying to find an audience for their games when they have to compete with all this garbage. Visual novels/e-books are tedious at best... imagine the best novel you ever read, be that Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy or 2001: A Space Odyssey or Twilight (if you have terrible taste in literature), but t…
