What is Smart-Pause Gameplay (SPG)

To combine the tactical depth of turn-based strategy games with the dynamic flow of real-time combat, we developed a pause system for Pirate Patrol called Smart Pause Gameplay (SPG).SPG is inspired by the Real-Time with Pause (RTwP) systems found in many real-time games, but it goes a step further by significantly enhancing the player’s sense of control in a real-time environment. With SPG, the game intelligently pauses based on the player’s input and intent, allowing for smooth, intuitive tactical decision-making.This system enables players to plan ahead and issue commands without breaking immersion—eliminating the need to constantly press a pause button or deal with disruptive interruptions caused by scripted or repetitive events. The result is a more fluid and responsive tactical experience that stays fast-paced while remaining deeply strategic.

That game feels like its vibe coded. Nothing againt vibe coding but the game is not ready. - inconsistent UI styles - unintuitive controls - bugs + great idea = story origins are there but not polished

I love space games. But this one is strange. Game lags. Clunky controls. A lot of ideas but realisation... I wish all good for dev, but in current state, sorry, not for me.

This is awful. Somehow, despite being made with temu sprites, it has massive performance issues. Tons of AI art and voices. Controls feel unresponsive and don't match up with tutorial instructions. It's basically one of those one-lane tug of war games with "my first coding project" vibes. Refunding immediately.

edit: Gonna have to come back, I am trying but it's crashing too much and shouldn't. I enjoy it, looking forward to future updates and qol work. wow I was just taking a break from x4 foundations(amazing game btw) and this game caught my attention. Ended up playing for 14 hours straight, it's one of those, "one more turn" type of games for me. I would say, ok I am done, then you travel to a place to log off and boom, you're in a battle and the maps are kinda long, which I like. Eventually you gotta be like "I am done" lol I have been looking for something like this. I like to smoke, theorycraft and game; this one is perfect for it with it's pause function letting me chill and make my moves step by step. I turned off smart pause cuz in games with em, I like to control it but the smart pause function is nice, I tried it and went back and forth but I don't like being surprised by a pause because I hovered over something so I stick with good ol space bar and it's perfect. And I like games I can one-hand and not be so hard on my hands as I am older and some games I can't play due to pain in my fingers. First, I hope they continue working on it cuz it def needs some polish. I have cras…

Very buggy. A lot of the game features just plain isn't even finished yet. Would love to see someone finish this "project", but as is this should be considered an alpha release at best. It isn't done. Fun to blow things up with a fighter swarm sporting glitched missiles that annihilate anything though.

No updates since very early March. Game isn't fun in it's current state. Avoid this like the plague.
