About Pirates of Gravitae

Pirates of Gravitae is an action roguelike game with fast-paced aerial combat. The player commands a gravity-defying pirate ship and her eclectic crew, in a bid to stop a malignant, global trade empire, the Dynamic India Company, the ambitions of which threaten the existence of Earth itself.
 • Run based campaign where every defeat gets you closer to final victory, with persistent ability unlocks and upgrades across runs
 • Wield an energy saber while swinging from a grappling hook, or fire your cannons on full auto while zapping enemies with lightning. Find your own favorite combination from 16 different sailor perks.
 • Balance offensive and defensive capabilities with maneuverability. Combine up to three from 13 different weapons, defensive measures, and maneuvers to find your optimal load-out.
 • Come up with a different build for each run. Equip your sailors with over 60 different randomized loot items.
 • Train your crew for persistent stat upgrades across 8 different stats for your ship
 • Optimize your build to suit your play style: high or low altitude, day or night encounters, strong winds or clear skies. It all makes a difference.
 • Raid treasure galleons, bombard forts from above, dominate the skies!

The year is 1650 and humans have discovered the means to extract Gravitae from ordinary matter, the essence that grounds and binds things to earth itself. The combustion of Gravitae in shipborne engines has enabled massive naval vessels to take to the skies, nimble as birds. New trade routes have been discovered unimpeded by land or ocean, bringing obscene wealth in a short period of time to a select few who control the extraction of this wondrous resource.

The rich and powerful have used Gravitae to levitate the most fertile lands and valuable assets out of the reach of ordinary people. They have built floating towns and cities saturated with comfort and luxury, unburdened by the destruction caused in the extraction of Gravitae.

Driving this massive change is a globe-spanning power unaccountable to any nation: the Dynamic India Company. It is rumored that the two DIC heads, only known as El Jeffe and Il Doge, are plotting to create an entire new world in the heavens for themselves to rule, by combining the stolen riches of the earth and the mass of the moon. Unstopped, this will spell certain and terminal disaster for everyone left on earth.

It is not too late yet.
Air Pirate
Battles on strange ships. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2831907577
STORY
Missing.
GAMEPLAY
The gameplay features arena battles in roguelite style. There is our ship, which becomes stronger along the way. But if we lose, then everything will have to start from scratch. The only exception is that you can globally strengthen the skills of the ship for the obtained blueprints. The battles are interesting, but the matter is complicated by rather unusual controls. It is intuitive, but sometimes you don’t understand what is happening. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2831907672 Consider the pros and cons of the game, sum up.
PROS:
+ Nice graphics. + Good music and sound accompaniment. + Good battles (if you understand how to fight).
WHAT CAN BE BOTH A PLUS AND A MINUS:
+- Control is not very convenient. Some will figure it out and some won't.
CONS:
- Terribly slow progression. In addition, we only strengthen skills. And what a ship it was and remains. I would like it to be constantly improved.
CONCLUSIONS
The game has an interesting idea and it i…

Eh, it's ok. It advertises fast paced dogfights with a naval theme. The problem is that there isn't a whole lot to it, but it just came out on early access, so hopefully it gets better. Nearly every upgrade is both very situational and provides a minor stat boost. Stuff like +15% turn speed when at low altitude, -1 ability cost during the day, all of the bird ones that do like +20% to stuff in high winds but the high winds zones are small, rare, and push you in a direction. Their are cooler run defining upgrades but they are very rare. you get 1 (of 3) when you start a run and another every time you beat an elite fight. While some of them are very cool, (the energy saber, the lighting turret, the energy shield; others are less useful, like the one that makes junk only drop health). There are also only 4-5 enemies (+2 if you count the mission specific fort and treasure ships) there might be more, but I just haven't gotten far enough to see them because the game is very hard. There are two variants of deathball enemy that can basically instakill, even at full health. One is a buzzsaw ball that isn't too bad as long as you don't let it close the distance but once its on top of yo…

I’d tried the demo when it came out and thought it looked interesting, but I was pretty saturated with games, especially of this genre. So it ended up gathering dust on my wishlist, and now, years later, with not as many roguelites around as there used to be, I gave it a go, better late than never. It’s a nice concept, but incomplete because its early access was abruptly ended due to it not being a commercial success. Something that’s sadly all too common amongst indie devs these days. This is reflected in the limited number of missions and the overall lack of content. I managed to complete it in under an hour, without having collected many permanent upgrades (the sort you carry over from one playthrough to the next), so I kept on playing for a bit longer to check out the rest of the abilities. The loop is quite fast, you have to aim the cannons whilst keeping the rocket ship steady, there are some abilities, and between missions (which are particularly short), you pick between three upgrades (classic) and select the next mission from a branching map, where you’ll also find a shop to spend gold in. There isn’t much else to it, but for the reduced price, I think it’s fine, and not …

Pirates of Gravitae takes the timeless appeal of pirate adventures and reinvents it with an imaginative airborne setting that immediately separates it from more traditional swashbuckling games. Developed and published by Innerverse Games, this roguelike action title replaces wooden ships sailing the seas with heavily armed flying vessels powered by a mysterious resource known as Gravitae. Set in an alternate seventeenth century, the world imagines a society transformed by anti-gravity technology, where powerful corporations dominate the skies while pirates struggle for freedom. It is a refreshing concept that successfully blends historical inspiration with science fiction and steampunk influences, creating a distinctive universe that feels both familiar and surprisingly original. The game's biggest strength lies in its energetic combat and rewarding progression loop. Every journey into the skies offers new opportunities to collect equipment, recruit stronger crew members, and discover different combinations of weapons and abilities. Rather than relying on repetitive upgrades, Pirates of Gravitae encourages experimentation by allowing players to customize nearly every aspect of the…

https://www.oneupgaming.co.uk/l/pirates-of-gravitae/ Pirates of Gravitae is an early access release developed by Innerverse games. It was first released in March of 2022, with as far as I am aware, no confirmed date for the full release. You play as a pirate ship that has rockets strapped to the bottom, and fight other flying ships as you dodge and weave through the air and other obstacles, shooting each other down in a roguelike structure. To sum up what I am going to say in the rest of this review, the core gameplay is fun and engaging, with a lot of the surrounding details feeling a bit undercooked and lacking. I will reaffirm this, the game is in early access. So be mindful of any complaint I have that it is not a full release. I am going to complain regardless in order to inform any buyers of the current product. But let's quickly go over the presentation first. I mention it mostly out of some sort of need to, not because I have much to say really. The graphics are fairly charming but nothing special. Same goes for the soundtrack. It is very fitting, very pirate-y but not something I'm going to keep thinking about. But it doesnt need to leave a lasting impression, it absol…
