Project Songbird

Amateur hour. Talented, with a character, yet an amateur hour. You would only love it if you're into indie musicians' stories and keen on listening to the main character's playing guitar and relistening her recordings. The main idea is reminiscent of the movie "Frank" (which is mentioned in a game dialogue; a great film, btw). However, if you're here just for atmosphere and gameplay, you've seen it all in other horror games. Nothing new, nothing exciting, just tedious walking and simplistic combat. Kudos to visual fidelity, though.

[h1] I tried, but no thanks. [/h1] It's boring, no jumpscares, no real horror elements (except the sentinels maybe creeping up behind you?). You play 5 minutes -> 2 minute cutscene -> play 10 minutes -> 1 minute cutscene -> play 30 minutes -> 5 minute cutscene -> so on and so on... Enemies are not scary, easy to kill and easy to evade and don't really pose a threat. [b] [u] To sum it all up: it is boring! [/u] [/b]

I haven't finished the game yet, but I am already loving it. Project Songbird is truly a passion project made by someone who understands horror, and what people want from it as well as being able to tell a big story through expression rather than a barrage of too much dialogue, though it is also conveyed that way as well. The protagonist is voiced by Valerie Rose Lohman, who also voiced Yaga in the game 'Blacktail', another game a played earlier this year, and she is a really good voice actress, and so are the other voice actors here as well. All the actors chosen for this game are clearly people who know how to deliver their lines, very well chosen voices. The game a very pretty. It is an indie game, so some parts look better than others, but there is undeniable talent, and attention to detail. FOV and focus are tuned just right so as to not be invasive to the experience. The sound is superb, the delivery is perfect from music that betrays the imagery in front of you (Like when you first approach the cabin), to audio of nature adding life to the environment around you. Best horror game I've played this year. Resident Evil will get the award this year, but this game gets MY aw…

Absolutely amazing game. Visuals were great and it was incredibly scary as well. I even got a bit teary-eyed explaining the story of the game to a friend. I would recommend to allow players to use the modifiers without having to beat the story though

I wanna say this game was really good, the story was super original, The game was fun and engaging and it was everything you could wish for out of a indie horror game. Super big recommend to anyone looking for a 4-5 ish hour game or something like that it is not a huge time commitment.
