MESSAGE FROM THE DEVELOPER
Hi, everyone! This is Conner. I just wanted to briefly say thank you for checking out my game and an extra special thank you to anyone who's supported me in any way throughout the creation of it. This is by far the most personal game I've ever made, and I think that'll be easy to see for anybody who plays through it. Much of the process for making this game involved just trying a bunch of weird ideas, and I think that, in the end, it all came together really well. No matter what, I'm proud of it, and I'm very happy to have made it. I hope it can help you in the way that it's helped me. Thank you!Feel free to reach out with any questions, comments, or concerns. Just keep in mind that I'm a solo developer and will respond to the best of my ability :)NOTICE

Players consistently praise Project Songbird for its emotionally resonant storytelling that explores grief, loss, and the creative process through powerful symbolism and character development. The game is celebrated for subverting horror game expectations to deliver genuine emotional impact that resonates with creators and players alike, though a minority found the narrative direction disappointing and the ending underwhelming.
9/10 | Beautiful | Eerie | Memorable. Project Songbird is nothing short of a masterpiece. This game expresses grief through art more than I've ever seen in a game before. I genuinely could never have imagined how good this game would have been just by looking at the trailer. It's one of those games you need to experience for yourself and IF you decide to do so, you'll be grateful you did because it's excellent. The ONLY downfall in this game is honestly the combat. It didn't NEED to be added but it was still a good addition to the mix of the story/development into discovering further info. I completed the game in 5.5 hours so expect this game to range between 5-6 hours total and maybe 10 hours at most for achievement hunting. Absolutely worth the price tag for that amount of playtime and effort poured into this game. To Connor: Thank you. This resonated deep with me and I respect you for putting yourself out there & putting that much reality into a game. I genuinely loved that. Most definitely recommend this if you enjoy a GOOD story driven game mixed with horror. Masterpiece.2 found this helpful
This game... If you could steal game mechanics and assets from just about every popular franchise, and not get sued... This would be the game. Picture mechanic, bad... Sound capture mechanic, bad...Axe mechanic, bad... Wont even mentions the guns... THAT BAD. Needlessly brings gender identity and political commentary into to the game... Oh and the singing...... MC cant hold a tune, to save her life...literally.... Bad Game, try harder Conner.... Try harder...
Project Songbird is an exploration in an artist's struggle that any creator can relate. Questioning your worth, the self-doubt, wondering if anyone will appreciate your art. All of this wrapped up in a horror game package. A strong narrative is important for a good horror game. There needs to be more than a cheap jump scare and a stressful chase. This game provided all that for me and kept me going.
Project Songbird is a cinematic first-person horror game following Dakota, a musician who retreats to a remote Appalachian cabin to record a new album. You explore the surrounding forest, investigate what is happening in the woods, solve puzzles, and survive long enough to finish Dakota’s story. Pros ✔️ The story feels incredibly well thought out - Small details, conversations, and changes in the world feel like they were placed with purpose, giving the story more to uncover as everything comes together. ✔️ The mechanics keep things feeling fresh - It moves between exploration, puzzles, recording music, and moments where you need to avoid or defend yourself from what is in the woods. ✔️ The emotions hit hard - The performances, music, and delivery made it easy to feel what Dakota was going through instead of simply watching the story happen. Cons ❌ Some story transitions feel abrupt - There are moments where it jumps from one scene or idea to another in a way that feels a little strange. ❌ I wanted it to be longer - I was invested enough that reaching the end felt less satisfying and more like I was not ready to leave yet. ❌ The music creation could offer more freedom - I would h…
I love indie horror adventure games, but after reading user and critic reviews, I concluded that the game won't be for me. Intrusive authorial narcissism in Act III and the high presence of combat-focused gameplay, along with chases during puzzle solving, are things that will likely frustrate me and make me quit. I was searching for something that emphasizes storytelling, features a compelling narrative, and creates an unsettling atmosphere to build up the horror without unnecessary gameplay frustrations and stress overdoses. All the forced and clunky combat mechanics, chases, and stalkers while solving puzzles are not for me. That's the reason I requested a refund.
I really enjoyed this game! Not to complicated to complete with a great message in the end!
