This is not a bad game, but it has several issues going for it: - It is not intuitive, there is a tutorial but you need a key to showcase it - The biggest difficulty is from understanding the game, then, you know that you have to put your module node (modifier) on odd position of a chain of connection, and your weapon on even number to maximize - To create combo, you need twice 3 times the same module on a weapon to activate, when a node can have up to 8 connection, it push to surinvest on the same module over and over - The progression looks very grindy, in some way, I would have prefer this game to be an incremental game than a roguelike with such slow pace of progression. I don't think I will ever feel like I broke the game with this unique combination of modules/weapon Like, if I take a game similar in game feel, Heretic fork, it does have much much more depth TDLR: Pretty game but not always clear, grind to unlock small content (<30 nodes), unique mechanics behind harsh requirement. Still had my fun. Just hope the dev can learn and do better next time

Pulselink is one of those games that looks simple at first glance but hides quite a bit of underlying depth. First, you need to figure out which setup works, which doesn't, and why. There is a slight learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, you can focus on the wiring and building a strong killing machine to get rid of those pesky blocks. The progression is smooth, unlocking plenty of content along the way like new weapons, new power-ups, and new characters. Most characters don't drastically alter your overall strategy, with the exception of one who completely shifts the core rules of the game. Discovering synergies is a highlight, though you cannot control the RNG, so unlocking them all requires some grinding. That is where I am at right now. While I have unlocked every single achievement, I have yet to discover all the synergies. At this point, it feels a bit tedious since constantly resetting runs is the most efficient way to progress. The developer actively listens to feedback, and I am grateful that a few QOL updates I requested were implemented quickly. I hope the game continues to receive support because it is a genuine hidden gem that deserves a larger player bas…

There is something here... but it needs more. Like a main menu. Thumbs up so it can get visibility but, like, it needs a little more time in the oven.
