You awake in an isolated village nestled deep in a desolate tundra inhabited by dogs. These loyal, endearing companions are now your only solace in the icy wasteland. But as you arrive in the village, you quickly discover a terrifying secret buried beneath the snow.In the towering shadow of an ancient church, a monstrous, godlike creature demands sacrifice and the only way to keep the village safe from its wrath is through the unthinkable: sacrificing the very dogs who trust you most.Will you escape this frozen hell, or will you be trapped in an eternal nightmare?
- Sacrifice to Survive: To keep the village safe from the giant creature that dwells in the church, you must engage in the ritual sacrifice of dogs.
- Care for your dogs: Dogs need to be raised for the slaughter, they must be fed well or they will turn on their master becoming twisted creatures themselves. Putting a feral dog down with a swing of your cleaver is the humane thing to do.
- Be ready to fight: The dogs of this town are not undefended from the great creature in the church, 'Attack Hunds' roam the cold streets of this village ready to fight off all threats to the residents within. You will need more than your trusty cleaver to stop them.
- Escape your fate: The creature in the church will decimate the village if not appeased but your fate is not intertwined with its, launch an escape and gain your freedom from this twisted cycle.
- Grow a garden: Dogs need to be well fed to prevent them turning feral, 'Hund Fruit' will feed their hungry bellies. Growing trees and dispensing their fruit among the populations will ensure you always have a sacrificial dog ready.
- Fish with dynamite: Take the edge off the stress the town's survival puts you under. go blast fishing and gain extra points to spend at the store.
- Home decorations: Buy furniture and customise two houses in the village to suit your needs, creating a place of your own to relax.

Lucky me has the dubious honour of writing the first review for "Putrid Beasts". And possibly the only one for quite some time. This game went down like a lead balloon. Putrid Beasts comes across as more of a lazy tech demo or weird homework assignment than a properly developed game, as the poor quality assets, zero polish, bug riddled clunky nature of this train wreck. Well, the screenshots should give you enough of an idea... this isn't just badly made, it's barely made. There's not a single sentence in the game that isn't a grammatical mess with spelling errors, too. The rest of the game is the game development equivalent of that failed attempt at writing. The idea is that you fight off attacking enemies and feed up a bunch of low poly dogs that you sacrifice to some nasty creature in your, well, I guess it's a village or something? The graphics are so bad and lazy it's hard to tell exactly what the environment is even supposed to be. I think maybe Valve needs to consider some QA on Steam Direct just to filter out developers who are obsessed with ritually killing dogs. This ain't healthy.
