this game is unpolished and takes an hour to beat, i was able to fall of the map by just walking against a mountain, BUUUUT! the game also has a compelling story and is so vague, it has a great boss fight, good atmosphere and an intriguing new mechanic using dog sledding.
Really good atmosphere and surprisingly intense. Some replay value as well.
Very good short horror game.
From the very beginning game creates great feeling of confusion and being lost in both time and space, constantly changing locations and the time period on the fly. Which is done in a very simple way that never takes you out of the experience. Overall, it creates a wonderful atmosphere of emptiness and isolation, as if you are somewhere far beyond the Arctic Circle, in a place where there is almost nothing. The minimalist sound design and visuals do an excellent job of reinforcing this feeling. There is a very interesting, simple and fragmented story. Game reminds me a lot of Penumbra games or Cryostasis: Sleep of Reason. The gameplay is quite repetitive thou, and can feel a little boring at times. You quickly learn how to control the sled effectively, and all the journeys start to feel very similar to one another, which only reinforces that feeling. The game is also far too linear and straightforward. Yes, you jump through time and space, but you always have only one path to follow, which is forward. There are literally only a couple of moments where you have to figure out how to progress, along with somewhat action sequence near the end. Aside from these moments, this is not real…
Fun experience. I bought the game on sale and played it with a friend in one sitting. The setting is lovely and I enjoyed the artstyle. The story felt very cryptic, but not necessarily in a bad way. Gameplay supports the artstyle and story well. I would recommend it :)
The game knows how to utilize snow and fog to create an atmosfere which will make you question every shadow in addition to the frequent flashes between scenes leaving you confused and curious as to what exactly is happening. A short game very much worth the price.
