Quar: Battle for Gate 18 is a turn-based strategic VR experience set in the grimmsical world of Alwyd!
It seems the Quar have always been at war. When the first wandering clans of insect gatherers built their low, mud-walled buildings, it was as much to keep out other Quar as the wild animals. As they first learned to make tools to get food, they quickly learned to make tools to defend themselves. The mud walls quickly became fortified citadels, and then city-states. In five thousand years of civilization, the constants of their culture have been the changing of the seasons and the threat of war.
For the last 700 years the Quar have been waging The Long War to a bloody stalemate that has wracked their world. But the balance of power is shifting and Alykinder’s Crusade is attempting to end The Long War by conquering all the Quar nations. This game takes you to one battle in one theater of The Long War: the Battle for Gate 18 between the Crusader Army and the Royalist Coftyran Crymuster.
Command cavalry to sweep the enemy's flanks. Send Baeliog armored tractors forward to shatter hardened defenses. Your rhyflers are armed with weapons ranging from the humble Bogen rifle to heavy-automatic shotguns. Rely on your stalwart officers to keep up your troop's morale and to call in deadly airstrikes. But above all, preserve the honor of your cause as you wage the Battle for Gate 18!

- Interact with your units from a god's eye view or shrink yourself down to Quar size to see the action first hand! Part of the fun of VR is playing with scale. In Quar: Battle for Gate 18 walk around the entire battlefield with Quar the size of toys or stand beside them in the trenches!

Truly Awesome! I just wished they would come out with a sequel or paid DLC's so we could continue. Perhaps create an endless mode with increasing difficulty until we lose. I enjoyed every hour in this game and will replay.2 found this helpful

It suffers a bit from Old VR game things... like having ZERO settings for changing controls or comfort, just audio and graphics. So you wont be getting any fancy move with the joystick, or what not... Just old fashioned Point and teleport. Although, with all the comfort features in this game, I actually found that this was the first VR game to make me motion sick (this was from staring up at the planes in the air, and trying to track them with my head, then another time when i was turning a bit too much), after logging nearly 1000 hours in various VR games, so there must be an award for that? You also cannot turn in game, which is a huge issue for me personally, since my playspace is long, not wide. So facing one direction, and using the ingame turn options is usually my go-to (I suppose that is why this game makes me motion sick aswell). So, i find myself getting lost in real space more often than any other game. The gameplay is straight foreward and fun, there's really no complaints on it, the characters and animations are well done, and I couldnt ask for much more. Its a good game, if not simple very dated for a VR game, not really worth $20+? More so $10, but that…1 found this helpful
Real time strategy game in VR from 2016, seems not outdated and runs perfectly in 2023. I liked the welcoming area, a military base where all the cute soldiers prepare for the battle and rest. It was funny to teleport towards each groups's side real size and watch their activities. But, I found its turn based style boring. I wish the gameplay should have been like 'Final Assault VR'.1 found this helpful
Damn really kind of fun / relaxing. Loving it !!! Never even heard of it and seen it on a web page, and reviews and stuff was right on. Thanks devs for something fun in VR
