About Quest of Dungeloria

Quest of Dungeloria is a short metroidvania with elaborate locations. Forget about linear progression, the entire game world is a puzzle. The melancholy of a dying fantasy kingdom. Hardcore platforming, puzzles, bosses, gear items and a lot of secret places.

Nonlinear story

Communicate with the characters. Choose your response options. Kill, betray or spare. You are free to do whatever you want in this world.

Adventure-like

In the spirit of classic adventure point-and-click games, solving some puzzles requires some item hunting. Talk to NPCs to gain valuable clues and piece together the history of the world.

Equipment

Active items grant the hero unique abilities, such as double jumping, attacking monsters, seeing hidden walls and more. Quick swap your equipment on the fly to adapt to any situation.

Item Swap

Improve items in your inventory by finding flower pearls, giving you new gameplay options.

Old School gameplay

Progressively increasing difficulty ensures a properly hardcore experience. Quick reaction is king. No randomization, everything comes down to pure character control and focus.

A pretty decent little game to scratch that indie itch. One will have to look past a few rough edges to see the soul and dedication that went into it. It's not a market-tailored "product" but a salt of the earth creation that makes its way to touch your heart and leave a warm, unordinary feel of "whoa" and a little smile. Worth every penny.

I played a dev version of this game, and it had many interesting ideas combined to create a nice metroidvania experience. Excited to finally play the completed version! Update: Now that I beat the game I can expand a bit more. The most fun part for me was probably the platforming challenges. Not too easy to be beaten instantly first try, but not too hard to be very frustrating. The overall exploration aspect is also great. The game is small enough that getting lost is not too much of a problem, as you can quickly explore all the known landmarks, especially with fast travel, and check whether you missed something at any of them. The ability progression system is pretty good, because even at the endgame you don't feel too overpowered, as you can only have one major ability active at a time. The battles were the one aspect that felt like it was a bit lagging behind the other ones. The regular enemies pose a good level of challenge, and the later enemies get more interesting. However, the feeling of the battle, the handling of it is not there. I would say the game is more focused on its platforming aspect than the battle one. Boss battles are similar. There are all the basic aspec…

One of the best arcade games I've played this year. If you a fan of spectacular retro-style arcades, and can appreciate handdrawn backgrounds, quite a hardcore gameplay and unusual visual style, then it's a game for you!

Been keeping an eye on this game for a while. It brings back great nostalgia for the times when we got story-driven platformers like this. It's simple on the surface, but very warm and enjoyable. Recommended for retro platformer fans.

Its fine. A little slow. Having to swap items constantly gets annoying. I also had to farm gold a lot for these goblins which was frustrating. The full health doors were more of a nuisance than fun. Movement felt good and exploration was fun. Bosses were pretty mid. Going to end up in my C tier for MVs
