Yo, this game is actually incredible. The fact that it only has 2 reviews is criminal! It's a phenomenal turn based strategy game where you're fighting dinosaurs with heroes from the past, like FDR, Cleopatra, Robin Hood, and Spartacus. What's not to love about that? haha There are different difficulty levels, and they do get super challenging. I never realised that something was missing in my decades long gaming life : repelling a reptilian invasion with a team made of Cleopatra, Vercingetorix, Charles de Gaulle and Mad Max. This game is far from perfect. The UI can be infuriating, but it's a lot of fun and a one of a kind experience made with love.2 found this helpful
Imagine, as an 80s child, discovering a board game based upon a discarded sketch from Monty Python's Flying Circus; a mishmash of conspiracy theories on occultism, reptilian invaders and time travel. It is an absurd, whimsical, gleeful grab bag of mechanics from fantasy dungeon crawlers and tabletop miniatures, teamed to a twee, cartoonish aesthetic redolent of rubbery He-Man toys populating that childhood 80s bedroom. You're now an adult and you know it's time to realise your vision: a nostalgic remix of your beloved board game into digital format. You playfully reimagine it on the floor of your bedroom, scattered amongst cassette recorders, collectible card packs and Styrofoam cups no doubt filled to the brim with Jolt Cola. You offer some canny twists, incorporating synthwave sound and graphics, some welcome mechanical updates from XCOM, and delightfully hammy voice-acting. This is that game, and you should revel in it. Nota Bene: Do be careful however with headphones - the audio mixing is slightly unbalanced, such that the teleportation sound, announcing a character's entrance into the mission start, may blow your eardrum clear out your anus.2 found this helpful
Game deserves more attention, it's got a unique art style and is tongue-in-cheek, fun, and there's enough mechanics to keep the player thinking ahead without being crazy complex. It seems simple until you get to the boss rounds, where you have to pay more attention. There's a rogue-lite element as well, as you can only enter the shop between eras or after failing. You run through each era composed of 3 maps + 1 boss fight, level up your heroes, hit up the shop, and move to the next era. I think $30 may be a bit steep, but I'm having a good time with it.1 found this helpful
So far pretty nifty, quite the lil undiscovered gem, that i'd played the demo on orriginally, and actually totally missed it's release. it's hardly got any sort of advertising for it, but, glad to see it's still managed to make it to a release.1 found this helpful
