About Rolling Gunner
"Rolling Gunner" is a 2D shooting game.
The player must skillfully dodge the barrage of bullets flying from all directions, and advance through the stages while controlling the rolling gun that circles around his ship. Online ranking is also available for players to compete their skills.
"Rolling Gunner" is a side-scrolling shooter.
For those who want to enjoy the game more, there is an additional DLC "Over Power".
"Over Power" is an exhilarating shumps that can be enjoyed with twin sticks.
March 18th, 2061 - "Operation Downfall" Commences
With its reliance on BAC, humanity had forgotten how to operate even basic transportation, let alone weapons.
After the attacks from BAC and the subsequent social chaos,
the human population was reduced by half.
However, there was a group within Lerman Matsunaga that foresaw the dangers
of a dependence on Buster Engines and the BAC that controlled them.
This group led the third stage of energy development, an anti-BAC weapon
developed in secret that would render Busterium inert, called the Rolling Gun.
The third stage of energy development, the military package of the Rolling Gun
and the mothership named the Anti-BAC Suppression Independent Control Armament
"Rolling Gun" Deployment Warship RF-42R STORK was rolled out.
March 18th, 2061 - "Operation Downfall" Commences
The mission: to destroy BAC, which has turned
Lerman Matsunaga into a fortress.

Nice! It's a horizontal shooter but it's a full 360 degree shootfest. Really gets all your mental pistons firing. I don't think I have a shooter like this in my collection to date, and I get pretty much all of the Steam ones. Very very good shooter, highly recommended. I got the OverPower DLC when I bought the base game, and the DLC makes it a lot easier. On my first try I got to level 3 and usually I can't make it past the first level. Very fun game. Works great with an Xbox controller on PC. Haven't tried it on the Steam Deck yet. Going to assume it works great since any game that works with a controller works great on the Deck. If you like shooters, this is a solid one. Don't miss. Great pacing, music, everything is just well done.1 found this helpful
Incredible side-scrolling shmup. Top tier, great music, amazing hyper/bullet cancelling mechanics. Awesome. 10/10 shmup!
While the military aesthetics are well trod for the shmup genre and will offer no surprises to anyone who has even heard of the genre before, the gameplay gimmick of a secondary weapon whose direction of fire is controlled by which direction you fly is so elegant, yet so simple. It completely changes the flow and direction of combat, adding whole new layers of thought to a genre well in need of innovation. Add to that its competent visual and audio design and a suite of QoL features to help smooth the ride, this is an easy recommendation to any bullethell and shootemup fans.
One of my favorite hori SHMUPs of all time. This game rewards time put into it, with increased expertise revealed upon each play. The OVERPOWER edition changes gameplay to being less about dodging & more about bullet-cancellation & aggressive gameplay, with the addition of twin-stick mechanics. Creates a state of deep flow when gameplay is at its most intense. I'm ready for ROLLING GUNNER 2!
It was a really fun playthrough. A fun twist on Gradius gameplay. It made me remember that I really enjoy this genre :)
