About ARMED SEVEN
Story:
The year is 1989. 12 years have passed since the Gogoh Army’s invasion of Earth. Exposure to alien technology during the war enabled Earth’s own technologies to take massive leaps forward. International conflict that was previously rife in the history of mankind fell to an all-time low, and the Earth Federation was established as a unified Earth government. The stage was set for an era of unprecedented prosperity.
However, the period of peace proved to be short-lived and was abruptly broken. The underground militant organization ‘Neo Roland Order’ appeared, hell-bent on establishing a new world order. Utilizing weaponry stolen from the Earth Federation, the Neo Roland Order launched a global assault. Now, the fate of the newly-formed Earth Federation hangs in the balance as it begins to fight back against this global menace.
Features:
• 7 stages of side scrolling mecha-shooting action!
• Customizable weapon load outs!
• 4 difficulty levels: Easy to INSANE!
• New for Steam: achievements, online leaderboards!

✦ AI summary
Players praise this shoot 'em up for its engaging gameplay, great music, and solid weapon variety, making it a fun arcade experience especially for fans of mecha shooters within the Astroport universe. Common complaints center on the short length and limited content for the price, with some noting that certain weapon options feel weak and that the game could benefit from better control customization, though some workarounds exist through Steam Input.
A fun shoot 'em up with great music1 found this helpful
It's OK, but I was able to beat the game in the time shown above. There really isn't very much content here. The game would also benefit from having toggle buttons for the two attacks, but I added them using Steam Input, so that's not too bad. Nothing this short is worth any amount of money tho.1 found this helpful
Pretty good. Not as good as Kaiser but still fun. Some of the weapon options aren't great. For an arcade shooter at 2.50-3 bucks, not a bad choice.1 found this helpful
its an astroport shmup if you like faster paced mecha shmups connected to other mecha Shmups then you know why you are here
Set at a point in time between Vulkaiser and Gigantic Army but, to make things confusing, released on Steam after the latter and before the former, this game has a thin plot consisting of the classic hidden super bad organization that somehow manages to seize so much military hardware, they can wage war on the whole world, in an alternate 1989 where an alien invasion the previous decade, of course repelled with a big mecha, led to Earth getting very advanced tech early. There would be a more complex lore but it's tucked into the Japanese website of Astro Port. All that ultimately boils down to a flying mecha with the ability to shift the direction of its main weapon up and down when not shooting, coupled with a secondary weapon and a self-recharging special attack. After deciding the loadout, there's little to do beside shooting down everything that moves. It's pure, simple, classic shmup with zero frills, and does the assignment greatly. The special attacks are very balanced in their strengths and weaknesses - don't sleep on the pile bunker, which has short range but stops even bullets. Artist and musician SAK does the usual excellent job with mecha designs, with s…
Really good mecha shmup, with a nice selection of weapons and difficulty settings. Quite intense.
