"Room 54 - Horde Survival" is is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "Room 54". Room 54 is a rare thing these days, it's an asset flip. No wait, it's not just any asset flip, it's a CryEngine asset flip! And you thought all the asset flips on Steam were from Unity or Unreal. Good to see Crytek isn't completely dead after nobody plays the one game they have and they turned into patent trolls. Anyway, CryEngine was a great engine but you really had to know what you're doing with it... and the developer of the train wreck that was "Room 54" didn't. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not Room 54, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "Room 54 - Horde Survival" too. The purpose of this advertisement…

🧟🔫 “Hordes of creatures? Check. Weapons and abilities to unlock? Check. Fun? …Not so much. Room 54 – Horde Survival tries to spin off from the main title, but it feels more like leftovers than a full meal. The action is there, but the experience doesn’t really hold up—it’s more bugs than thrill.” 😬 ⭐ 1/5 — I don’t recommend this one. Plenty of better horde survival games out there to scratch that itch. 👉 Check it out here: https://youtu.be/TzopW1ZBrtE

Disclaimer: I absolutely, wholeheartedly respect the solo developer mindset, effort, and love poured into their project. The problems with this game are quite vast and needs some work at this time: -Enemies can attack through walls (literal walls) -You can keep stacking ammo up until you have 1000 rounds (at least for the hand gun) -The points system is broken in the sense that it gives you 500 points to start (so either a hand gun or a melee weapon, which both deplete your points entirely) and then nothing you do can actually make the points increase. Meaning all those really cool weapons around the house are not actionable at all. -I felt the enemies were a little too strong (they're all just zombie Mike Pence running around, not like they have any armor or anything). -The green glowing enemies, once they die in the house, there is a filter that makes the screen bounce, go super dark, and have a green hue. The game becomes basically unplayable because the filter stays on the whole time after that. I did enjoy the COD Zombie mode back in the day and this could be a fun passion project for Luca, but more work and time needs to be dedicated to make this game fully playa…
