About Scrap Galaxy
Scrap Galaxy is a local build-and-destroy deathmatch game for up to 4 players. It is a 2D top-down shooter taking place out in space in a galactic junkyard. In this setting, the players are trying to survive by constructing space ships.
The game is round-based and each round is divided up into two phases: build phase and battle phase. During the build phase, each player gets a number of components and has to assemble a spaceship from them within a certain time limit. During the battle phase, the players pilot the ships. They battle against the other or team up against the garbage drones living in the junkyard.
The randomness and unpredictable nature of the game makes every round into a new challenge, because you always have a new ship to battle with, raising the stakes and making the game quite addictive.

The starting idea is good, but controlling the ship is not so much. And the camera doesn't really show/follow me. I guess the AI players are considered normal players and the game try to fit everyone on the screen but not willing to go far enough for it..1 found this helpful
Scrap Galaxy is a lively and inventive indie multiplayer game that revolves around one simple but highly effective idea: letting players build wildly improvised spaceships out of scrap and then immediately test those creations in chaotic combat. Developed and published by Catalope Games, the title embraces a playful, arcade-inspired design philosophy that prioritizes creativity, unpredictability, and shared fun over balance perfection or competitive seriousness. From the moment you start assembling parts, it becomes clear that Scrap Galaxy is less about mastering a fixed system and more about adapting on the fly to whatever bizarre ship the game hands you the tools to create. The core gameplay loop is split into two tightly connected phases: building and battling. During the build phase, players are given a randomized selection of ship components and a short time limit to assemble them into something that can fly, fight, and survive. These components include engines, weapons, armor blocks, and utility parts, all of which can be placed freely. Because the parts are random and time is limited, construction often becomes a frantic exercise in improvisation rather than careful plannin…
LOVE this game concept. The co-op part was DIFFICULT, but we beat it with FRIENDSHIP. The game and weapons are not balanced.. this is a fun party game, and less a competitive fair game.
Fun little game with friends. I find it so funny when someone builds a non-sensible ship!
I cannot find the words to praise this game enough. Simply the best local multiplayer game available on steam. I recommend grabbing some mates, some controllers, hooking your game up to a big TV or projector and having the night of your life.
i meet the creator and its good
