Sector 598 is one of dozens of low effort retro-pixel SRPG Studio asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the SRPG Studio video game construction kit. SRPG Studio is even worse than RPG Maker. Like all SRPG Studio "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality assets (notably most of the assets here seem to be custom instead of just copy + pasted SRPG Studio stock assets... but they're still very low quality) coupled with deplorably bad game design (turns out when developers don't know how to develop games and use construction kits instead, they also can't really manage the other jobs a game developer must do to succeed). As with all SRPG Studio games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of SRPG Studio is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development. Like most SRPG Studio shovelware, the game features extremely low quality 2D retro pixel art (original or not), looks awful, and has even worse game…15 found this helpful
Creative and unique! And an indie love letter to the fire emblem kinds of games from the past, absolutely worth a try!1 found this helpful
