Sensorium Galaxy is a highly ambitious, visually striking social VR metaverse project that functions less like a traditional video game and more like a high-tech, interactive music festival capsule. Spending exactly 30 minutes inside the client allows you to fully experience the primary reason to download this early access project: the exclusive virtual concert.The central attraction is the "Intermundium" show, featuring a custom 30-minute electronic set by legendary DJ Carl Cox. Stepping onto the floating, transformative PRISM stage alongside hyper-realistic avatar models provides an incredible layer of immersion if your PC hardware can handle the demanding Unreal Engine 5 rendering. However, the experience is severely bottle-necked by massive optimization drops, unresponsive character models, and a frustrating mandate to create an external third-party account before you can even launch the environment. It is heavily unpolished and feels like a ghost town once the music stops, but as a completely free interactive music demo that keeps your Steam profile clean from incomplete tracking achievements, it is well worth seeing once.

Old Positive Review Oct 26, 2024 = Sensorium Galaxy is an Early Access Free to play VR music experience with a EDM set from Carl Cox. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system with RTX 4070 TI Super, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Was set to Ultra graphic performance by default. Has instructions, but they are textless and unclear. Not sure if this was a multiplayer experience. Has some vr interaction parts in the lobby that make music, and a Dali art world where you can paint. Was able to watch all the content. CONS: i could not figure out how to change or select an avatar, so went through looking like a gray genderless full body humanoid. Try this free VR music experience, if you like EDM and have a cutting edge gaming computer.

What a short way indeed we've come from the nineties with the help of clueless venture capital! I should apologise straight-off to anyone who hasn't already played 1997's _Virtual Nightclub: A Game About Time_ which even with its brief, small, compressed FMV clips better simulates a nightclub than this doubtless $1M+ buzzword moneygrab which has achieved the heretofore impossible by repeatedly making me want to harm teddybear of all-time DJ Carl Cox. This isn't a game, nor is it an 'experience' or whatever term they want to use to try to get people to convert real money into fake money, which is what all of this sort of thing is really about. "What better way," a hipster Mr Burns might've crooned, "to get young people to spend money then by virtualising a nightclub experience?" and if he'd stopped there he actually might've been onto something, but you know how these people are, and instead you get an incredibly-poorly-executed first-person simulator in which you can inhabit a labyrinth of concentric spiral platforms suspended above distant parallax-texture lava (into which you can fall, by the way, only to be instantly restored to wherever's close to where you fell in by the engin…

At first, the concept is fun - a giant rave (/party system in the future?) on some alien planet with special effects. You are among tons of pre-recorded dancers in a variety of outfits. In the loading area, they have equipped the NPCs with chat bot AI so you can carry on a surface level conversation - a good idea, but they quickly hit their limits. Overall execution is poor. Details are not that great on the avatars and even though the environment is awesome, things can get laggy with 100s of dancers in the parties. Carl Cox thing was 30 minutes, and you have to wait for discrete launch times for each show. Your own avatar is not very responsive. This game really needs sensor compatibility and maybe personal mirrors like VRChat to be more fun. Pull out 3/4 of the NPCs rendered in the parties. It seems ambitious, like they will release new environments and parties, but at this clunky stage, I am unsure if it will survive. Further, they have a horrible requirement to go make an account and log in before you can use - why are we injecting more hurdles to try things before you have something decently great... Prove me wrong, I'll be thrilled to come back.

graphics: good game: nothing to do movement: i feel like a drunk person, very funny movement avatars: glossy as ♥♥♥♥ for some reason and also all the women in the ship you spawn in wear skimpy clothes overall: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with a hint of quality, the funny movement almost carries the game, and the ai dont respond to what i am telling them even though thats what they are supposed to do, 3/10 (gave a extra point because i feel bad for the developers who had to work on this ♥♥♥♥, the avatar designers definitely liked their job tho)

great idea... love everything about this, but i feel like the virtual characters aren't very interactive. whether i say anything or not, everyone seems to say similar things, ignoring any questions i have asked. not sure if there was an issue with my microphone or something. if more people played this, and/or the virtual characters were more interactive, it'd be a really great experience. for people having trouble playing this, after starting the app, i had to take off the headset and log on using my desktop computer. i also had to make an account at sensoriumgalaxy.com. possibly it would be better if it was easier to make an account, and if this could be done from within the vr headset, otherwise some people might be frustrated and give up without even trying the game.
