Soundscape XR: 2024 is a free VR social world where you can play around in music visualization spaces. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. There is a tutorial. There is some games you can play and shooting fireworks from your controllers. You can host your own instance in Freespace, then play your own music using any third party app (Steam Music Player) on your computer. You have some maps for free to use on a free account for your event when you create one. The only VR movement is a Flight mode. You can earn some in-game coin by playing every day a certain thing. You can also play using desktop with mouse or controller. They have added sessions you can play from music groups, themed rooms with their own music. The devs copy pasted this game from their Soundscape VR 2017 game. CONS: - Nobody playing this. - Does not have intergrated music playing UI. Try this for a VR social music experience.1 found this helpful
The experience may be better if you have a VR headset, but I found it difficult to move using keyboard and mouse. At least the title is free though.1 found this helpful
The Game crashes when you try to play deadmau concert. it says GPU crash dump triggered by soundscape> Unreal engine crash. Another steamin pile of s***t software from Steam...pile of s***t
The controls are atrocious. It's painful and frustrating to do the most basic thing in any game. Move. On top of that there's a new bug where the leaves on trees are oversized very basic polygons. It could be a bug with tessellation? It makes any level with trees unplayable. This game could be something worthwhile if the controls weren't insane. Who made the design decisions for the controls? They have no idea whay they're doing. This is something that's been very thoroughly figured out and standardized. Whatever they were thinking is outright bad design when they decided on some weird contrarian controls that make no sense.
Lots of fun to just listen to music and explore. I really like watching my music change the shapes in the nebula!
