Interesting theme and tiling-alternative, decent art, but menus and especially controls are an issue. + Unique image theme + Choice of a range of piece counts, with or without rotation, and alternative tiling * 3.1 hours playthrough for 100 % achievements (all levels, with and without rotation, with and without alternative tiling style) - Rotate doesn't fit/snap piece (you have to move-touch it again) - Doesn't support pick+rotate (left+right click together) - Right-click camera-panning is way too sensitive - Rotating pieces are buggy (connected but unplaced blocks can randomly reorient themselves in a wrong way, which can only be solved by placing them on the board correctly (according to some of the pieces) and then reloading the level) - Moving connected pieces over other pieces can have visual glitches of what's on top It's not that expensive, and I did play through it, so if it interests you it's by no means awful or not worth it. As long as you can accept the lack of convenience, fluidity, and quality controls and can excuse the progress-blocking bugs you have to manually resolve through workarounds.

Warning: Asset Flip!
Shinobi's Way - a jigsaw chess tale is an asset flip, what Valve calls a "fake game". The Brazilian "developer", Minimol Games, took a jigsaw template for making jigsaw puzzles in Unity, slapped a couple of asset flipped sprites on it, and dumped the results onto Steam as a cash grab scam. It's nice to see Brazil giving Russia a run for their rubles when it comes to polluting Steam with asset flip garbage. Minimol Games has shown a repeated pattern of ripping off Unity templates and other people's games and dumping them on Steam. Don't believe me? Here's some other asset flips from exactly the same template, all shamelessly dumped on Steam as nasty cash grabs:

"Daylife in Japan - Pixel Art Jigsaw Puzzle", copy + pasted from the same template by Minimol Games
"Jessie 'Boom' James - a jigsaw chess tale", copy + pasted from the same template by Minimol Games
Look for yourself... these are all exactly the same game! The products that result from asset f…

As long as you are doing the small puzzles not needing save and restore its fine; I was able to complete all the achievements. However, save and restore is broken especially in chess mode; all the pieces even when already placed properly will be stacked in the middle and sometimes they are stuck randomly. Had much better luck on classic mode, but I still had a rare restore problems. Gave up on the chess mode after completing the smallest puzzles. Was able to do Act I completely in classic mode including many save and restores; on the 3rd puzzle in Act II had a couple of incorrectly sticky pieces and gave up. Cannot in good conscience recommend; which is too bad because the art was great and when it worked the chess mode puzzles were unique.

It's okay I guess, but I've played much better jigsaw games. I'd give this is Mixed review if I could.
