About Slice, Dice & Rice

Slice Dice & Rice is an indie fighting game with no health bars. Inspired by Bushido Blade, it revolves around the idea of finding an opening in opponents defense and ending the round with a single, clean hit. Gone are the tedious hit points – each scratch impairs your movement, every wound might be your last.

Gameplay
Our goal was to make fighting games accessible to anyone. An intuitive set of basic abilities allowed us to remove the need for memorizing inputs and move-lists, while retaining the complexity. Moves can be canceled to feint an attack, hits can be parried or dodged, and they can clash with one another. This creates a mind-game heavy gameplay, one that mimics real samurai showdowns

Characters and Stages
You can play as one of 8 characters, all with their own stories and unique fighting styles. Game’s cast offers many variations of gameplay, from a swift monk using only his fists in battle, to a muscular lady with a giant sword that compensates speed and mobility with endurance during her attacks.

Fights take place in alternative version of Japanese underworld and features 6 unique stages with hand-drawn textures.

Slice, Dice & Rice is a distinctive indie fighting game developed by Dojo Games and published by Ultimate Games S.A., built around a bold design philosophy that rejects many conventions of modern fighting titles. Instead of health bars, extended combos, and layered meter systems, the game embraces a minimalist but high-stakes approach inspired by classics like Bushido Blade. A single clean strike can end a match instantly, turning every duel into a tense psychological standoff where patience, timing, and reading your opponent matter far more than memorizing lengthy input strings. This design choice immediately sets the tone: every movement carries weight, and recklessness is punished without mercy. Combat revolves around a streamlined control scheme that focuses on a small set of deliberate actions—attacks, feints, parries, dodges, and positioning. Rather than overwhelming players with dozens of command lists, the game encourages mastery of spacing and mind games. Attacks can be canceled into feints to bait reactions, and defensive maneuvers require sharp anticipation. Because a single well-timed blow can decide the outcome, matches often unfold cautiously, with both fighters circ…

It is kind of okay. I had zero technical issues. It runs well on a potato. What you should consider is that you can beat the game in 80 minutes on Easy (the story is forgettable). Not much content to it. Might be okay on a deep sale.

This game is phenomenal for the most part and I do reccomend it I adore difficult games, Bloodborne, Elden ring, Sekiro, The dark souls series, And to a big extent I'm a fan of this. The combat is genuinly engaging and super rewarding. The art style and backgrounds blend exceptionally well and forcing engagment for the player but making one shot kills, clashes, parries, and dodging works exceptionally well. The only issue I have with the game is the clean hit one shot system can feel off. The most I felt this is when I was playing a character like Yoketsu or The monkey king, Sometimes it feels like it was a dead on hit but they just tank it. The most prevelent is against the main final boss of the games story "Yami yoketsu" Where you can hit him a fair amount without him dropping but he one shots you pretty regularly. And I understand that its just a skill issue on my part but trying to win against a far faster character that has more hp than you does feel like your pushing a boulder up a hill just for it to roll down the other side. 8/10
