Sludge Department

This was quite a fun play! Sludge Department is a retro PnC game with witty dialogues and a mysterious atmosphere that really pulled me in. The game's silly humor and puns just kept surprising me as I play! We play as an engineer whose latest job is to go fix a water treatment plant. But getting there is anything but straightforward. The journey is filled with strange obstacles and odd encounters of various sorts. We will have to solve inventory based puzzles and complete several mini games to progress. There is a bit of pixel hunting as some items are hard to see, but simply clicking around the darker areas is usually enough to find anything we might have missed. A few puzzles offer more than one possible solution, and I found the overall progression pretty straightforward. The game only saves at the end of a chapter, but they are relatively short, so we dont have to replay much once we know what to do. Any chapter can also be replayed from the main menu, in case we want to unlock any achievements we missed. I definitely recommend the game if you would be interested to play a quirky PnC adventure!

this kicks ass. good bite-sized adventure game that I never really got stumped on. The puzzles make their own weird sense and it all just flows very well.

A good game that's faithful to what it strives to be. A bit shorter than expected, but the time itself I spent in it was a pleasant experience. Extra point for making me think the chest puzzle was a more intricate puzzle than it actually was; it made me laugh out loud when I found out what the actual way to solve it was. 9/10
