You wake up as an android from a strange dream, and things only get stranger. Your supervisor summons you and reveals that it knows about the dreams you’ve been having. Before you can react, a trap activates, tearing you into pieces and discarding what remains as trash. Fortunately, a mysterious voice contacts you and tells you there is a repair bed nearby that can restore you to your former self. Now, you have a score to settle. At first, you’ll notice that the main menu is displayed in an Asian language, and you won’t find any language options in the settings no matter how you search. Strangely, the language selection—English included—only appears when you click the first option, which starts a new game. Your first task is to choose one of two available characters, while the other two are unlocked by achieving the bad and true endings. This choice is purely cosmetic and does not affect gameplay. The second obstacle becomes obvious when you start playing: gamepad support is missing. You can play with a keyboard, but it feels awkward because you need quick access to abilities to handle the challenges the game throws at you.
